The traditional 2,400 square foot main house boasts vigas and diamond plaster walls throughout with 4 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths. The detached guest house with its own fenced-in yard and patio also boasts vigas throughout with 2 bedrooms (note one is downstairs) and one bathroom. Grassy yards, covered portals and patios offers ample spaces for the family to play and relax after a full day in the Land of Enchantment. This property offers an authentic NMTrue experience! Other details to note: The outdoor stairs down to the yard are uneven in spots - please use caution. We are in the desert and parts of the main house are over 100 years old which is what makes it charming! However this does mean the water pressure is low and the home is heated via radiant heat, there are space heaters throughout the home if you prefer it be warmer. There is currently no AC in the main house, this is common in Santa Fe and you’ll find if you simply leave the windows open at night and then close them during the day the double adobe walls will keep it cool. If it snows, you’ll need to shovel the snow in front of the gate otherwise it could break when attempting to open/drive out. The second bedroom in the guest house is downstairs and the only bathroom in the guest house is technically an ensuite to the master (albeit you enter the master and turn right for the restroom and left to enter the bedroom area, i.e. you do not have to pass the bed to access the restroom). There is a 90 degree turn on the driveway with a tall retaining wall on one side and the main house on the other, therefore no RVs, trailers or duallys as they won’t be able to clear the turn. Helpful too. The property worked well for us, 3 families, 6 adults 6 kiddos; wished there was second bath in guest house, and possibly the 1/2 bath in main house was a full bath. Kitchens were amazingly well stock with both equipment an supplies. All 12 of us had Thanksgiving dinner at one table after some minor rearrangements. The property was a hit with younger kids. They played outside every day, even in cold. We had family photos for all the groups, and photographer found great backgrounds for all the many shots… beautiful. Property is located up a pretty good hill, and we had hard rain as we arrived which did roughen up road but we had no problems getting in and out. The quiet of the neighborhood was amazing! ##### Doug B. There were 7 of us 76 year old high school friends and we absolutely loved staying there! Every amenity was provided. We loved the indoor space as well as the outdoor space! We had a lovely fire in the fireplace! The kitchen was very well equipped including everything you’d expect plus an air fryer, crock pot, spices, French Roast coffee, and the list goes on! There was comfortable and private bed space for all of us. There was ample dining space both inside AND outside! We were 5 minutes from the Opera house, so we just chose to “tailgate” at home on the patio. It was just absolutely beautiful, comfortable, well-equipped, and accommodating!
