The TROPICALIA is beautiful and spacious. It has everything’s you’ll need to make your stay comfortable (e.g., beach chairs, beach towels, washer/dryer, etc.). It’s in a great location, walking distance from the beach and a strip filled with restaurants, bars, and lounges.

From one Dreamer to another

My family and I were blown away as soon as we opened that white gate. Everything was so pleasing to the eye. It is such a well thought out tiny home feel. The lighting, the plumbing, the living room, the hammock. How lovely it was to walk out of my room to our private patio. Thank you Tropicalia by DW. I am one satisfied Dreamer!

It was a really nice place - super comfortable and felt safe. I think Puerto Rico is just really safe and beautiful place to visit, so that helps! The sink was TOO small - honestly that's the only con of the "Lover" room. Otherwise, it's super cute.

Great location, surrounded by restaurants and shops, 9minute walk from the beach, only had street parking but we were always able to find a spot right out front. Room was very clean and the patio was nice.

Overall, lovely property. Rental is located on 3rd floor with no elevator. Gated entry is difficult to open with the key but once you’re in the unit it was absolutely beautiful

Property was spacious, clean and welcoming. Abandoned building across the street was not so welcoming. Property description should tell more about the urban location. It may not be what all travelers are looking for.

Inside everything was great. Clean and welcoming. It’s the street that seemed unsafe maybe because of the unbanned building and not having too many parking options left us parking in a sketchy street. Was afraid of leaving car but had no choice.

The apartment is located in an urban area and doesn’t have assigned parking spaces, but it is cozy and clean… so we didn’t mind until we noticed the air unit doesn’t work in the master room, you also don’t have anyone to help you and the only communication you have is through a message board with someone on the other side of it telling you to sleep on the sofa bed. The price I paid for one night and no air is unfair. I should of read the reviews before staying. I would not book this again

Better skip this property

The apartment is in a dark street by a freeway. Water was cut off twice during our stay and the windows did not close properly so plenty of mosquitoes day and night. The owner offered to send a handyman to sort out the windows… our plan was to go on vacation not deal with repairs and handymen…for the price I thought the place could have been cleaner and in better repair. We moved to a hotel and there the windows closed so this is possible in San Juan, perhaps not at this apartment. The entrance of the building is quite horrible, needs a coat of paint and a better door.

Nothing was unique. Pictures are not as advertised. Room was very small and dirty. Bathroom was very nasty. Toilet is so close to the sleeping area. The area is not good. Cracks all over the walls. Bedsheets very dingy. Room smell very dirty and moldy. Hammock is very dirty. The whole place looks horrible. Will never recommend it to anyone. Very very disappointed. Got there very late the first night. Was not able to get any hotel that night to leave immediately, but left the next day and stayed at another hotel which was more conducive to stay. We got sick from the MOLD SMELL. Rating is below ZERO. Shower is very nasty. Have pictures to show as proof.

Fun place with fun design

Great place with nice touches. Has everything you need. Also well designed. Would stay again. Very clean!!! 5/5 Note for host: Use hinge pin door stops for the outside door. When it’s opened the door can slam into the glass sliding door (I saw that it was damaged from prior tenants). The toilet in the master bed can use an upgrade. It’s a bit finicky now. Had to reach in to the water reservoir and fix the chain a couple times. Light switch next to sliding glass door is missing switches (aesthetic component). The switch can still be used. One set of keys (out of the 2 sets of keys) is missing the key for the sliding glass door. A bigger garbage can (to match standard bag sizes provided) would be a plus. Dining table light flickers.

Terrible. They used my first and last name in a reply to a review that i made which i will not let it go un noticed. Lights went out for more then an hour when they claimed it was an hour when i have the phone calls and videos to prove it was more.

Very unique stay and very private! By far the coolest place we stayed in San Juan. Close to many cool restraunts and bars - within walking distance. Will definitely book again in the future. Great communication with host as well.

Interesting part of San Juan

Host keeps property clean. Two beds were comfortable. Apartment has character and is in an interesting part of town. Don't be alarmed by the graffiti in the neighborhood, we never felt unsafe and enjoyed walking to restaurants and to ocean (didn't swim there so not sure of condition of water). Only downside is narrow street parking and Google maps tries to send you down wrong way on one way streets. Once we figured it out we were fine (stayed two nights).
