![Great Sand Dunes was one of the most anticipated stops on my USA road trip this year and I was not let down by the experience of the highest sand dunes in North America. 

The sand dunes are formed from the south westerly winds which over time has left the dunes at the foothills of the Sangre de Cristos ranges.

Perhaps not the smartest thing I did on this day was to be walking around in thongs. The sand was scorching hot and giving me blisters as I walked up the dunes. The creek on the return walk was a welcome relief in the middle of summer.

« I just found my dream home!! This house is absolutely beautiful! I got married in south fork and needed a place for a nice family gathering for dinners. It was perfect! Pool table was a huge hit. The back patio was was so great to sit at and hear the creek! There was more than enough room for all of us girls to get wedding ready! Thank you so much for hosting mu family. It truly made my whole wedding experience a million times better. The host was fantastic, so helpful! We are already planning...
