Etobicoke

Toronto
Etobicoke featuring a house
It may be close to the big city but this small town retains its identity with serene parkland and beautiful coastline.

Walk or cycle through secluded valleys and along empty woodland trails in Etobicoke. Spend a day at the races or immerse yourself in excellent shopping and entertainment.

Straddling several major inroads to Toronto, this small community holds plenty of shopping opportunities. The Queensway features numerous outlet stores and a multi-screen movie theater. Before you head home grab a tasty burrito or burger from one of the fast-food diners nearby.

If the sun is shining, enjoy some of the gorgeous outside areas and trails that wind back and forth through town. The Etobicoke Creek Trail travels in an easterly direction, sheltered almost completely in parts by the leaves of colossal oak trees, some more than 300 years old. Queensway and Jeff Healey Park have baseball fields and open grassy patches perfect for a game of soccer or gentle relaxation.

One spot not to miss is Humber Bay Park on the edge of Lake Ontario. Multiple marked paths offer scenic hiking and cycling with views of the water and marina. Find your own quiet cove to swim or watch the yachts and ferries as they come and go.

Enjoy a day at the races with a drive to Woodbine Race Track north of town. Pick your favorite horse or harness team and enjoy the action from the stands. Stay for the day and have a delicious lunchtime meal at the restaurant.

Etobicoke is located a 20-minute drive southwest of central Toronto. You’ll find accommodations in several large hotels as well as modern water-side apartments. Both the Queensway and Islington Avenue are lined with bars and restaurants, along with a seemingly endless stretch of superb bakeries.

Before and during your visit, check out the Etobicoke website offering suggestions for 365 things to do, including farmers markets, wine tastings, historical attractions, wellness walks, festivals, parades and much more.
