The staff at the front desk were great, but our concerns were the following:
1. The breakfast buffet was not worth the $15.95 charge.
2. House keeping was very poor. They did not come into the room during our stay, except once, and because we were in the room at that time, they never returned at a later time. We had been staying out late due to our outdoor treks, and we did not return to the room until very late at night, so it was unpleasant to know that upon our arrival back to the room in the late hours, the towels and linens were not replaced. There are signs in the bathroom stating if we wanted the towels replaced, then to leave them on the floor, and we did. Unfortunately, the lack of house keeping dampened our experience here.
3. Lastly, we were charged a valet fee when we did not use the valet.

The drinks were beautiful, along with the view at the bar. Our room was beautiful and the coffee was GREAT! Everything was perfect from start to end. One person working the bar could have been more pleasant - dark-headed girl. Smiling would help out a lot. We loved it there. We think the sea walrus should be named and they should have a cam-same thing with all of the ships...we learned so much watching them from our window and looking to see what flag they are flying. We thought that would be another fun thing the hotel could do

We stayed at McBee Cottages for only one night. I would have liked to stay longer. It was a good size.The decor was very cute and cottage-y, with beadboard walls and a cozy fireplace. There is one wall with all the kitchen amenities so you could plan to cook some meals. Everything was clean and comfortable. We only realized later how close we were to the beach. It was just a short block to walk there, and Haystack Rock was right there. It was low tide and there were volunteer naturalists there to tell us all about the tide pools.

The property is great and clean. Beds are comfy, but the pillows are too thick and firm. Went across the street to Fred Meyer and got 2 of my own to use. All in all a nice place to stay and conveniently located close to everything!!
