Lovely hotel, friendly staff, great breakfasts. I could move in! My only problem was arriving late at night in the dark, I couldn't find reception to check in, and nobody answered the phone when I called.

Location for early flight is perfect. Breakfast starting at 5am is also a great asset and the breakfast was very good. We had an issue with the chair in our room needing cleaning and we brought it up to the front desk staff who were horrified by that and extremely apologetic. The room was sizeable, quiet and the facilities are excellent the lift is quick which makes for a pleasant experience.

The room was an ideal size for me travelling alone. Perhaps a little small if two using the room. The double bed was a good size. Sockets are not conveniently located in the room so take a longer charger cable so that your phone can be charged on the bedside unit, of which, there was only one. I noticed straight away that the lighting was too dim for my needs. I have to put every one on to get to a reasonable level but it was still on the "romantic meal out" end of the brightness scale. The shower curtain was badly fitted so didn't cover the bath end, only the side as it had all the rings on one side of the ceiling mounted bar. The hotel location was perfect for the gardens across the street, His Majesty's Theatre (200m away) and Union Street main shops. I got a great deal a few days before travelling which included breakfast. Breakfast was fresh, plentiful and covered every food type you'll want from a morning meal before heading out to explore.
