"Room was fine. Staff was friendly and helpful. The location was handy for us. Breakfast was so so. No towels were in our room until we requested them. They were delivered promptly. Pool was not available for use until slightly after 11am, due to pool area maintenance. Only 2 jets on jacuzzi worked, and pool felt too cool for me to use."

"I confirmed a 2 day minimum stay thru EXPEDIA for the Oceanside Marina Suites. As soon as I read the reviews, I tried to cancel but EXPEDIA & the hotel won’t cancel my reservation without charges. As soon as we entered our room from the garage, we were hit with an old musty odor. The smell continued through all the rooms. Luckily, I brought a candle. Unit is on 2nd floor with fantastic ocean views. But the unit & the whole resort needs serious updating. The ocean breeze and fans helped with no air conditioning & the musty odor. The balcony is not private and all the windows are dirty & should really be replaced. I complained to the front desk & she told me she cannot move us that night because they didn’t have any clean rooms. She told me to come back the next morning to talk to the manager. We were in town due to a death in the family so I didn’t really want to waste any time moving or dealing with refunds so we decided to just stay for an additional night. We met family for dinner & came back around 10pm. We realized we forgot both of our room keys. There was no one at the front desk, but a note that listed a phone number for emergencies. We called & talked to an answering service. We didn’t receive a response, so I decided to break into our unit by climbing through window that was broken. I’m glad we did that because it took an hour before we would have had a new room key. Even with the awesome views, I will never stay here ever again."

"I am a long-time Marriott customer and generally have a high regard for them. On this stay, 3 nights long, I noted a card giving the housekeeper's name and suggesting a tip. I was prepared to give one, but noted that there was no evidence any housekeep had been done. I dropped a small piece of a candy wrapper on the first day, and it remained on the floor until I checked out, which meant no vacuuming was ever done. The bed was never made up. Maybe hotels don't do that any more, but I don't think so. I still like Marriott and will stay with them in the future, I think, but since there was no evidence of any housekeeping done, I left only a tiny tip, just because I thought I should. Huh!"

"Room does not look like photos. Dingy, run down, stains on bed. A/C was warm. I checked out right after I checked in. Hotel and Expedia wouldn't refund. Expedia gave me a $25 credit, yay! Lol. So apparently a hotel can mislead and put you in a filthy room and there's no recourse. I would NEVER book here!"

"Pros: It was nice and clean, both staff members we spoke with were friendly. It was super convenient - a 2 minute walk to Starbucks; a 2-minute walk to In-N-Out, a 5-minute walk to Angelo's. The room was clean and pretty spacious, same with the bathroom. It was infinitely better than where we had spent the previous night. Cons: Water pressure not great. I wish there had been a movable shower handle instead of just a shower head. No breakfast."
