"The property seems to be recently updated, it is modern, and clean. The amenity is lacking a few things (for example, it tells the guest to wash dishes and put them away but doesn’t provide a clothe to dry them). Also, the instruction isn’t super clear. The instruction reads to leave the key on the table when checking out (that’s what it says literary in English), when in fact you need to lock and put the key in the lockbox as one example. Also the road to access the property is quite narrow...

Shikitei

Amazing place to stay in Nara, located right in the Park but in a quiet area. Delicious traditional Japanese dinner and breakfast, they were even able to accommodate vegetarian requests. Sleeping on the tatami was special!! Very attentive and kind staff, the only note is that they don't speak English so make sure to have your phone with you with Google translate, especially at the restaurant. The matcha tea ceremony was cute but very rushed (10 minutes in total).

Great little hotel in Nara. Room was clean and nice with a balcony that was private despite facing the street (high walls). Only stayed one night so didn’t use many amenities but there was an onsen for guests which was nice as well as a self serve kitchen (perhaps self serve outside of breakfast hours) that we used. More traditional style room but with western style bed. It is right beside the park and a 5-10 minute walk to kintetsu-Nara station. Very close to lots of food and shops, and of...

Hotel Rokune

Nara

10/10 Excellent

Room was huge! Super easy to access with codes for the building and room provided 24 hours ahead of arrival. Available laundry in the room helped us immensely half way through our two week trip. Great location next to JR Nara Station especially since we took the train to Uji for the day. Also being located next to Sanjo-Dori street made for tons to do in the evening, easy and great food spots, and a straight route to walk to Nara Park. Unfortunately the guests above us were incredibly noisy for...
