But absolutely beautiful place. Clean and amazing private onsen. We loved the gift shop and they gave us robes to use. Breakfast buffet excellent. Only the front desk personnel spoke any English. The spa was large. The food was great - but was served in the restaurant rather in your room. (Unlike the Kyoto ryokans in which we have stayed.) And we had twin beds instead of futons. A bit of a walk from the train station. They serve you breakfast and dinner at the hotel. It is so much food you should skip lunch in the middle of the day. They also offer soup 9:30-1030\. I have not tried it because I start dinners late they keep me full. The place has a very nife onsen which includes an indoor bath and an outdoor bath. The train station is a bit of walk - about 10 minutes- but ince you get there it is an easy day trip to Osaka, Kyoto, or Nara park. The rice field area next to the hotel is actually an excavation area for the Nara period Imperial Palace. They are trying to rebuild the palace. It is a very unassuming World Historic Heritage site. It makes for an enjoyable walk around the park day. There are not a lot of tourists here yet. They dont charge for going in anybof the buildings. You should start at Suzaki gate. We were very disappointed. The property is old and dated, desperately in need of a refresh. None of the staff spoke any English but, to their credit, they did try very hard to assist us. The location of this property is not good at all if you are looking to see the best of Nara.
