Turtle Cove sports many recent upgrades: new stainless appliances, granite counters and nice cabinets in the kitchen, new bath vanities, new carpet, etc. Formerly known and very popular as Pelican Watch cottage, this property has three bedrooms and two bathrooms on the oceanside in the lovely, private Pelican Park subdivision in South Nags Head - only 13 cottages and no thru traffic. There is easy, direct beach access (steps and a walkway) very close by.
For those guests traveling with their furry friends, this house has a fully-fenced yard area with gate enclosures for your dog(s). Simply open the front door and let fido outside with no worries.
South Nags Head is arguably the best location on the Outer Banks for a family vacation. It is a totally residential area enveloped by the Cape Hatteras National Seashore yet is only minutes from a variety of retail and recreational outlets (Jennette's Pier, Tanger Outlet Mall, many restaurants). Families will find the quiet, low-traffic and non-commercial atmosphere relaxing yet appreciate how easy it is to drive to the grocery store, restaurants, the movie theater, or a putt-putt course. The large multi-use path that parallels Old Oregon Inlet Road for its 4.5 mile length and is great for running, biking, or walking. Oregon Inlet Fishing Center is a full service marina with boat ramps and is just a couple of miles south of Turtle Cove if you need a convenient location for offshore or inshore boating and fishing.

A view and more!

Our stay at Turtle Cove was restful and relaxing. It is situated in a cozy neighborhood with easy beach access and a nice view of the ocean from the front porch. Our family dog enjoyed the security of the fenced-in backyard as well. The property was very clean, and the kitchen was well equipped. Many thanks for a lovely vacation spot!

Needs work

Needed a deep cleaning. Carpet, walls and outlet covers were filthy. There was mildew on shower curtains. The rolling garbage bin was not available so we walked it down to dumpster. There is a large gap in door; you could see outside clearly- not just a crack. There were just a few ants on kitchen counter, but 2 days after my call an exterminator came. We were able to control them pretty well by killing them ourselves. Exterminator mentioned it was probably due to weeds growing up around steps. Appliances were great and it was a great location, but I wouldn’t stay again. I did enjoy reading on the shaded deck.
