Beautiful Setting, close to the beach

Posted 26-Sep-2016
Pros: Location and setting
Cons: Cleanliness and maintenance
Location: Restaurants and shopping are close by. The hotel/condos are close to an outlet mall, a Walmart and a strip shopping center.
The condos were really nice and spacious. The setting is beautiful, lots of mature trees. Our condo could have been a little cleaner, there was a sunflower seed on the living room floor, meaning the housekeeping staff didn't vacuum thoroughly. Bathrooms and kitchen were very clean. Our sliding door and the vertical blinds didn't work. We didn't need the screened-in balcony since we were only there one night, but it would haven been annoying for a longer stay. The location is GREAT, close to shopping, restaurants and the beach. The hotel (Embassy Suites) that manages the condos was excellent. Condo renters have the use of the Embassy Suites' and the next door Hilton's facilities such as pools, beach access, workout facilities and business services, also. We ate breakfast (a buffet, but has made to order eggs and omelets, too) at one of the hotel's restaurants and it was really good. Lots of choices and the food was tasty. All in all, I enjoyed the one night we stayed and I'd definitely consider a longer stay in the future.

Booked on short notice, wanted room to be ON THE BEACH as the Hotel.com description stated...condo rooms are NOT, they are managed by Embassy Suites, whose property is beachfront, so disappointed as rooms are block away, although priced otherwise. Rooms are older timeshare looking units, our rooms had worn unravelled carpet, old beaten baths, scrapes and scuffs all over..hadn't been updated since original built. Overall layout was roomy for 2 kids and fine but condition was rough. Have access to hotel's pool playground which was fun.

A Hilton?!?!?

Posted 17-Aug-2016 on Hotels
Huge water bugs-two in the room. Rude staff. We decided to finish our vacation at a Hilton property after excellent stays in Doubletrees in New York, Lancaster, PA, and Chicago. I looked to this resort for the kid friendly things it has. The property is beautiful, but I was truly disappointed by the little things. I felt some of the staff was a bit condescending-like when I asked the lifeguard at the kids' water park when they would reopen and he rudely said when they were done with it. The biggest thing was how after waiting 3+ hours for our room (which we understand, we were early and were upgraded by Michele who is great), I was told I had room 316 AC and after almost 10 minutes trying to open it with all our stuff in the hallway, in the sweltering heat, kids being bitten by mosquitoes, I texted the help desk number and was told our room was actually 313! That to me is such a silly mistake that made it so uncomfortable for us. Again, not complaining about anything major, but it's the little things. I was so appreciative of the bigger 2 bedroom, but the kids ended up still sleeping on the pull out because they want to be near us, I couldn't find the sheets and called the front desk at almost 12am and the staff was a bit rude in their response as well, saying I had to ask for the sheets if I wanted them, which is fine, but I don't appreciate the tone in which it was said. Michele was the only person that was kind and professional.

Convenient to the beach

Posted 17-Aug-2016
The condo didn't look like photo online I fell in love with the open floor plan and updated appliances illustrated on the website When I arrived the rooms had a retro 90's feel a few bugs and spiders crawling on the table at this point we had traveled 4.5 hours and could not turn around if I had my way we would have gotten my money back and perhaps stayed at the Marriott I wanted this quick vacant to feel like a home away from home Sorry this did not work out

Nice place to stay

Posted 17-Aug-2016 on Hotels
Our stay was really nice. The house villa was really nice. There were a couple of issues we had though. The door to the porch did not lock, the beds were to soft and the wifi was not very good. But overall it was really nice. I would definitely stay again.
