"I would like to begin by highlighting some positive aspects: initially, the team was very efficient in managing the addition of two extra days to our reservation and the transportation from the airport. Likewise, the staff was always very friendly and did their best with the available resources and the obstacles they faced. However, I regret to inform you that the hotel does not seem to be prepared for peak season in terms of staffing, towel availability, and cleanliness. My husband is a very light sleeper, and although we requested a room change because our stay was for two weeks, we were placed on the fifth floor, in the room next to the elevator and below the lounge. The noise of tables and chairs being moved until 10:30 p.m. made it extremely difficult for him to rest, and we could not be relocated because the hotel was full. On the other hand, I had a serious health issue related to the breakfast buffet. I was recovering from food poisoning for four days; after temporarily moving to another hotel to rest, I became ill again immediately after eating at the buffet upon my return. Additionally, we experienced daily inconveniences with the towel service, as we had to wait until after 4:00 p.m. to receive them. Finally, we noticed that the pool area does not have enough shade or seating for the number of guests. I usually leave positive reviews about my stays, but this time the experience was "

"The tricky lady at the front desk tried to charge us twice for the breakfast. Parking place is a nightmare, always closed, dark, alone and you must go out of your car to ask (almost beg) for somebody to walk and open the gate. They offer amenities like a hair dryer. Lie. "I’m currently staying at the Hotel Santo Tomas and it’s a total standout. The building was originally built in 1908, and they’ve done an incredible job maintaining that historic character while keeping everything comfortable. Even though you’re right downtown and close to everything, the property feels like a private oasis. Once you step inside, you completely forget you’re in the middle of a busy city. It’s quiet, incredibly beautiful, and the layout is perfect. The pool area is excellent... very lush and a great place to reset. They also include a solid free breakfast that actually hits the spot. If you want a place with real history and a peaceful vibe right in the heart of San Jose, stay here. I’ll definitely be back."
