"I absolutely loved the location of the cabin. The view from the terrace was mesmerizing, a very quiet and peaceful atmosphere. The lake was just a few steps away from our rooms. The rooms were equipped with AC's but one of the ACs wasn’t working, the kitchen was fully equipped, two full bathrooms but no towels, no wifi, no warm water. Communication with host could've been better as he sent instructions on how to access the property until the "day of" as I was on the phone with customer service....

"Fabulous hotel with unbelievable staff that go above and beyond in every respect! There is a great pool and a lakefront with amenities including SUP, and kayaks. The included continental breakfast is fabulous, as are the lunches and dinners. The sauna is a must. This is the perfect base for exploring the Mayan ruins and Flores Island. "

"My biggest complaint is that the hotel or park does not have a place to exchange currency. They will accept USD and credit cards in the restaurant which is great but not at the park entrance. I tried to pay the park entrance with credit card and clean new bills which I got at a local bank in the US and the park entrance still would not accept some of the bills. I believe the lack of a currency exchange offices is to prevent travelers from using the public buses or colectivos. The closest place to exchange money is on the border with Belize and Flores. I had to by-pass the junction to the park and continue to Flores an additional hour one way because I did not exchange enough to not local currency. Tikal is one of my favorite World Heritage sites in the world and I was thrilled to share my experience for a second time with my son, but the lack of exchange currently offices is not world class. "

"We opted to stay at the Isal de Flores because we were returning from Tikal and Yaxha and needed an overnight spot close to the airport for an early-morning flight out the next day. It was a very good choice in terms of location, transport to the airport, room quality, and responsiveness of the staff. The rooftop bar is a nice addition, but be aware that the beat of the music from the bar when it turns into a club at night can be a little disruptive. Flores island itself has its charms but is limited in size and dining options. "

"We stayed at the Jungle Lodge Hotel because of its main selling point: it sits at the entrance to the Tikal national park site. The convenience and accessibility of the site from the hotel can't be understated. It does mean that your options for eating other than in the hotel restaurant are pretty limited, but it didn't matter because the resto is well run and offers a wide array of options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The rooms are safari-chic and compare favorably with many of the safari lodges we have stayed at in Africa. But be aware that there is no air conditioning -- and Tikal is in the jungle. The ceiling fan helped a lot, fortunately. We were in one of the bungalows farthest from the restaurant/hotel desk, which was great for noise purposes, but the water pressure was so feeble that taking a shower was a time-consuming process."

"This hotel is top notch! The service goes beyond expectations and the staff was very eager to help. Who ever does stay here, you must know that it is away from any stores or restaurants. The hotel has a small gift shop and the food was excellent."
