We were 3 adults and 1 child. So for comfort we had booked a king suite that had a capacity to sleep 6 people. At the time of check in were asked to pay an extra $70 because we were 4 people including child. And the default price on the site is for 2 people. If I am booking a 6 capacity room, do not charge me extra until I exceed that capacity. What non sense. 30 mins of argument with the front desk at check in. His argument was that if there is a fire then we need to know who all is in the room for safety. My point was that I am not sneaking extra people in the room. All 4 of us are here at check in together. I have paid for a 6 capacity room and I am still short 2 people. So do not charge me more money. After 30 mins he agreed to waive the extra fee. The hotel had a nice indoor pool. A games room for kids and toddlers Convenient location . Parking was $20 for first day and $40 for second day. If their system had displayed all these extra parking cost and extra people fee upfront, they would not have even made past my search filters.

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It was a convenient location, close enough to family and hospital. The room was clean, super comfy and quiet. Thank you so much

Marriott downtown is my favoutite hotel in Ottawa. However, at this time they were doing renovatons on the first floor which limited the area for meals, breaks, and meeting people.
