"Cannot recommend this Inn enough! It was so charming and the staff was very welcoming. The location is very close to the beach but not particularly close to eating options. However, the staff did a great job of providing information about this both in advance and during our stay. They also provided snacks on site, charcuterie upon arrival and breakfast in the morning. Oceanview 4BR • Steps to Beach • Family Retreat

"The listing photos depict an inviting and well-maintained property “Steps to Beach.” Actually, it is one giant step and is unsafe for someone of limited mobility or agility, or young children. The property is elevated about 6 feet above the beach and the only step was two cement blocks side-by-side and a piece of driftwood to make a landing after taking one giant leap that is probably 4 feet down. The property is not maintained. The main baseboard heater knob was broken and wouldn't shut off. A window covering was missing. The bedroom ceiling light fixture was broken and my wife stepped on a piece of the broken glass at the side of the bed. Carpet was very dirty. Bathroom fan was rusty with caked-on dust; the shower had red gel in it before we used it; the towels were mismatched and in no way “plush”. The dining chairs were extremely dirty and wore out. The garage door wouldn't close because the hardware was rusted and falling off. The oven was dirty. The bedding had holes, the bedroom closet was essentially full of old dirty pillows, and the bed frame that adjoins the headboard was filthy with caked-on dust and rust. There are dangerous rusty metal brackets on the retaining wall, a sagging deck with boards missing and nails popping, and paint in sad disrepair both inside and out. There is public beach access just two houses away with safe steps. Host is very nice, and says owner won't spend the money to repair. Please enlarge the pictures, and only 8 were permitted."

"Pros- Location: On the beach just steps from the surf. Extremely quiet on the far north end of Rockaway/Manhattan beach. No other housing exists until Nedonna beach to the north. - View: Spectacular panoramic views with floor to ceiling windows and some that fully open to let in the breeze. - Building: Condo is built with thick concrete so no sound comes through the walls or floor- Kitchen: Very well stocked with everything needed- Washer/Dryer: In unitCons- Windows: Owner needs to invest in regular window cleaning (yes, I understand the challenge of sea spray). The unimpeded view is the main feature of the property and the disgustingly dirty windows really detracted from that.- Maintenance: Property is aging and it shows. No seal on the entry door allowed wind to blow right through, structural cracks in the ceiling beam. etc.- Stairs: The unit is three flights up a creepy and dirty stairwell. No issue for us but be aware if you are less capable. An elevator exists but it's boarded up and not operable. All said, a pretty decent property, but a bit more investment in cleaning and maintenance would really make this place a superstar."

Fantastic Rockaway Family Escape – Close to Beach with BBQ

"The host was great with communication and the property is located just across from the beach. This was great for us with a toddler as we could pop down and back whenever we wanted.The house was very clean and we found all the amenities we needed. There were extra beach towels and toys for our use. It was also great as a pet friendly place and our dog also had a comfortable stay. There was even a movable dog gate we were able to use on the top of the stairs to keep the dog and toddler upstairs with us.Would stay here again."

"This location is north of adorable Rockaway. It is just a 15 minute drive from Manzanita and 10 more to Cannon Beach, then short drive up to Seaside and/or Gerhardt. Going south, it's not far to the Tillamook Creamery. Gorgeous beach 3 houses away. Excellent house for multi-generations or multi-families with the 3 levels and 2 full bathrooms."

Modern Condo on the Beach with Spectacular Views

"Great location. Great space. Great views. Several things they could fix. We stayed on the first elevated level (parking was under the unit). The elevator didn't work. The glass door to the patio did not work. The window to the beach did not work. The glass looking out to the ocean had lost its seal and was foggy. When we cooked a pizza, some cheese fell to the bottom of the oven. It started smoking. With not being able to open the patio door and the window to the beach, the unit filled with smoke. It set off the smoke alarm for the entire complex, except for in our unit. Everyone could hear it going off except us. We found out when the fire chief pulled up along with the fire engine. (The firemen were taking bets on the way there, was it pizza or steak that set it off. We all laughed.) The dryer was slow to dry the towels. Our towels were damp and a little musty when we arrived. Some of the dishes had been put up that were not really clean. It is a great place and we would definitely stay there again. But, the place could use some TLC and you just need watch out for the items listed above."
