"Communication with the owner, Francis, was the best part: he was prompt and helpful in responding, flexible in his requirements, and very generous in helping us manage plans for an impending nor’easter bearing down on the island with diminishing options for getting to the mainland. The house was charming and very comfortable- we did not use the second building which looked to be set up for kids (eg bunk beds), and the location peaceful and had easy access to the beach. Madaket is not as “crazy” as the town of Nantucket, even in September. I strongly recommend this house … as long as you don’t take the weeks I want in 2027 "

Our one complaint was that the promised wifi internet was not available for most of our stay (and we needed it for work), and though the host diligently worked on solutions, when they proved ineffective, he didn't see fit to give a token refund for that missing amenity."

The house has many wonderful touches, especially all the shells and glass bottles but there are quite a few small things the owner can do to improve the experience of the renters. Perhaps hiring a new cleaning company would be a start."

A very nice yard for games. Free public transportation steps away. The property is fairly secluded. For the price I would have appreciated Air Conditioning. 3 of 5 bedrooms have a very small loud window unit. The rest of the house has none."
