9.2/10 Wonderful! (1,002 reviews)
The property itself is beautiful, and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. However, my overall experience was mixed.
The layout is not very accessible. While there are elevators, they don’t always take you directly to your room or key areas like the pool, so getting around can be inconvenient. The location is also difficult to explain to taxi drivers if they’re not already familiar with it.
I had issues with service as well. They asked how often I wanted my room cleaned, I selected every other day, and they only cleaned and provided new towels one time the whole trip. Even with the Do Not Disturb sign on and letting staff know I didn’t want breakfast, they still knocked multiple times and called the room phone and woke me up, so I never got to sleep in, which defeated the purpose of a relaxing trip. Breakfast itself was very minimal, just croissants and flavored yogurt, and not filling.
The beach is a steep walk downhill and is connected to the Marriott, so you don’t have access to their chairs or amenities.
Overall, I made it work for a one-time stay, but I wouldn’t return or recommend it.

Pool, Beach , restaurants , shops , coffee / snack bar , what’s there not to love! We used the very nice gym daily although an extra charge of 5/6$ per visit . Bartender at the main pool bar was fabulous ! Rolls weee comfortable , my boys loved the Murphy beds . Market close by , can walk to all the restaurants . Booked a second floor villa and it was perfect !
Loved this resort for our family spring break !

8.8/10 Excellent! (1,635 reviews)
The hotel itself was average and clean, the kids were happy because they mainly wanted to enjoy the pool and the sea — and those needs were met. What really affected our stay, though, was how we were treated by some of the staff. Unfortunately, I’ve experienced this before in parts of the Caribbean, and it’s disappointing every time.
There were moments where we were clearly ignored in ways that others were not. For example, the beach staff refused to set up an umbrella and chairs for us, telling us to find an existing one at the back, while other guests were being set up right at the front by the water. I needed to be near the shoreline so I could watch my kids safely, but that courtesy wasn’t extended to us.
Similarly, spa staff walked around offering menus to everyone except us. We had actually planned to book treatments, but after being overlooked like that, we decided not to.
Despite these experiences, we absolutely LOVE St. Maarten — the island itself is wonderful, and we always enjoy being there. It’s just disappointing when moments like these take away from what should be a joyful visit, especially given that the Caribbean is my own heritage and yet I’m made to feel unwelcome while enjoying the progress we’ve all worked hard for.

The only improvement we would recommend is softer pillows. The pillows we had seemed like staging pillows and not comfortable.
