"Loved the secluded location within walking distance of the southern end of Lake Windmere. The cottage was smart and very clean, and well equipped, but we were stumpted on how to adjust the settings on the upmarket oven (a manual in kitchen drawer would have helped). We found that we had to be vigilant about the step in dark slate floor between bedrooms and kitchen/lounge (we used a bit of white cardboard to visually remind ourselves.) Had a great stay at The Bothy, we highly recommend it "

"The hotel itself is really good, staff are friendly, we had Diego who was really helpful on check in. The room we stayed in was okay, disappointed with the mold on the bath seal, the shower head was also mouldy and the light was flicking in the living room. The view was good, we looked over the lakes and also the building site where they are building a new pool. Cant be helped but wasnt mentioned when booking We payed a bit extra for the room, dont think I would do it again."

Our accommodation was comfortable, modern, and had everything we needed for a relaxing break. A special mention must go to the concierge team, who were absolutely amazing throughout our stay. They were friendly, helpful and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. One of the highlights for my husband was the Bentley chauffeur service into town – a fantastic touch that really added to the luxury experience and made our stay even more memorable. The hotel has a lovely atmosphere, beautiful surroundings and excellent facilities. We would highly recommend Lakes Hotel & Spa and would love to return in the future."

"I was upgraded to one if the newly refurbished suites. The room was spotlessly clean, stylish and fresh, comfortable and spacious, with nice little extra finishing. I would definitely recommend the suite (budget permitting, as the quality of the room is reflected in price) for those spending a lot of time in the room. I was mostly looking to spend my time to de stress, relax and rest. Superior rooms are also spacious and comfortable, although as far as I know, are mostly unique, i have noticed some aren’t as well equipped than others. Although, all suitable if you are going out and about more, I find they are the best value for money. The smaller rooms are lovely for a one night stay or if travelling light. I recommend making use of the spa facilities and well equipped gym. Both are clean, with all the main equipment and facilities. You can pay for treatments as extra. I have tried out a few massages, which were great for sleep and recovery from gym workouts! The staff are what makes this hotel really stand out from the rest. I cannot speak highly enough of the girls at reception, management team, and housekeeping staff. Customer service is extremely important to me, and nothing was a problem for the aforementioned staff, they made me feel comfortable, listened to and a valued returning guest. They are friendly, professional and polite. Certain staff at the pool/spa are also lovely, helpful and friendly. The bar staff were a slight let down, being fair, they were very busy."
