Dining in is also recommended but the selection may be limited and can be out of meat which was very disappointing. Had another beef plate because they were out steaks, but it had too many fat pieces. I politely made a couple of recommendations to avoid this unpleasant culinary experience."

"A gorgeous hotel with personality, character and exceptional hospitality Gorgeous George was one of the highlights of our stay in Cape Town. This is a boutique hotel with a wonderful sense of personality, combining eclectic interiors, beautiful design and a genuinely welcoming atmosphere. What particularly impressed us was the attention to detail throughout the hotel. Every space felt thoughtfully designed, with distinctive furnishings, artwork and a character that sets it apart from more conventional luxury hotels. The staff were exceptional, friendly, personable and attentive without being overly formal. Even the playful greeting of “Hello Gorgeous!” at reception added to the hotel’s charm and made us feel welcome. A special shout out to the doormen who went out of their way to make sure we were safe during our visit to Cape Town with insightful advice on where to go as well as how to get to places safely. We also loved Gigi, the rooftop restaurant and bar, which provided a wonderful setting to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. What makes Gorgeous George special is that it offers more than comfortable accommodation. The hotel itself becomes part of the travel experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return. Highly recommended for anyone looking for somewhere distinctive and memorable in Cape Town."
