There were no visible signs to indicate these came at an extra charge so assumed they were complementary with the upgrade. After checking out an extra charge was put on my card and I was told it was for these items. Really disappointed with this as it was very misleading. I was told a price list was included in the basket, there was none as we specifically checked just in case. After explaining the circumstances and requesting a refund I received a very brusque reply saying there would be none. I chose it because it had parking (a rarity in London) and because of that it was easier to overlook the revamp that the hotel seriously needs. The staff were very friendly, but obviously overworked and understaffed so service was very slow. No cold water in sink tap (only warm). Windows unlockable. Staff need to smarten their dress. The photos of the property looks much better than the reality. We were not impressed with the demand for a £50 deposit for crisps and a small selection of snacks in the room. The room had an infestation of ants mainly in the bathroom. We were woken up by a fire alarm at 7.20am apparently caused by a hot shower - this was unforgivable. All that being said the staff were very friendly and polite and helpful as were the bar staff.
