One can feel that everything is brand new, my room (8 people dorm) had a top light and bottom lights (next to the beds) for the night, which I thought was great. The bed is very comfortable and you can choose between three or four types of pillows (sic!)! My bed had a total of 3 power outlets + 1 USB port + my own lamp that stretches over the entire width of the bed. I didn't like too much that the lockers come with keys (mine was already bent) since I prefer to use my own padlock, but I guess most people won't bring their own so this is fine. A big advantage is the lovely staff, they are really welcoming and helped me to reserve a ticket for a Geisha dance performance and told me where to pick it up. I have stayed near the station before, which was nice for connections, but this hostel has everything nearby and the bus line 50 is literally just steps away (9min to Kyoto station) and many other bus lines are within 5 minutes walking distance. For me, this hostel is just great. Now, why am I writing this lengthy review? Because on my last night (I stayed 4 nights), I had the entire 4th floor to myself and I felt like helping the ladies out with a review, so others may choose to book here. If you're reading this: You won't regret staying here. ##### Franz Christian Stayed 2 nights in Oct 2019 ### 4/10 Poor #### Mari Nov 13, 2023 Disliked: Property conditions & facilities オンシーズンなので仕方ないと思いますが値段が高い。トイレにペーパーが無いことがあった。夜うるさい。洗面所に髪の毛を掃除する道具を置いてください。キッチンはいつも綺麗で使いやすかったです。 ##### Mari Stayed 4 nights in Nov 2023 ### 6/10 Okay #### Hsiu chuan Nov 11, 2023 Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, property conditions & facilities #### 女性吹髮＋化妝＋聊天＋不關門＝大家不用休息了 位置優，有電梯，一樓公共空間寬敞，需要寄放行李箱也很方便。床墊＋被子出乎意料的好，但是上下床的設計，似乎沒有考慮到旅客的安全性，下床不是太安全，沒有把手設計，或是輔助吊繩可以拉。 二樓女性專用房，一片薄薄的拉門外就是梳洗吹髮區域，沒有考慮隔音問題，如果有人開門出入，同時有人在吹頭髮，房間內的客人很難休息，這樣的情況，也沒有給客人警語，幾點以後注意音量，可以將吹風機帶到浴室內使用，避免影響其他旅客休息。應把盥洗區域單獨隔開，有一扇門，避免影響睡覺區域的品質。不同樓層的客人也到2樓洗漱，他們不會知道影響別人，這一點應該是由飯店宣導。 ##### Hsiu chuan Stayed 2 nights in Nov 2023 ### 8/10 Good #### Verified traveller Dec 4, 2019 Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, property conditions & facilities, room comfort #### Good place to stay, could use some improvements Very clean. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast is some sweet bread. They set out options for pillows from you to choose from. It's a healthy walking distance from Kyoto station with light luggage and the the Nishiki Market area but far enough that it's quiet. Front desk staff was nice. The kitchen and common area downstairs are clean and fine. There is one washer and one dryer and a clothesline on the roof.
