When you check in they pour you tea and give you traditional sweet; they then go through breakfast times; breakfast in the room is amazing and must try. If you are not looking for the full traditional experience, this might be less of an ideal option for you. If you want that experience, you will be handsomely rewarded. Have your google translate ready, because not all staff speak English, but that's about the only possible negative. The room was gorgeous, the location is perfect, near Nishiki market and surrounded by shops and restaurants. Get the breakfast option, as it's a cherry on top. We paid for breakfast, and the spread they set up in our room each morning was stunning -- it was so fun to try different foods each morning. We also really enjoyed the public bath in the basement -- very relaxing and clean.
