I would say it is more of a 3.5 star hotel. We overlooked the garden which was ok… we weee expecting more The neighborhood was quiet and nice, about a 15 min walk to the a beautiful temple, the Philosphers Path and the zoo. This resulted in the area being quite and relaxing. My room was clean and spacious with a clear view of a rather small, yet aesthetic, Japanese zen garden. What surprised me most was how comfortable the futons are. Only major issue is the lack of access to mainstream transportation. As we had to leave early because of a tour on one day, they were not able to give us a little lunchbox or a coffee or anything although we paid for it. We booked the dinner as well - it is very pricey but absolutely delicious and the chef is incredible - so kind and perfection in every detail - but be aware - for me it was really perfect - for my 20 year old son tough it was more like an appetiser - he was still very hungry afterwards.
