Don't let the messy reception area fool you. This is a great place to stay in Kyoto! Fantastic proprietor, large clean room and comfortable beds. It's a great choice for a budget hotel and gives you everything you need for your stay.

Soraniwa Terrace Kyoto Bettei was the friendliest stay that we had in Japan. The folks at the hotel were super welcoming and the amenities in the room made it feel like home. The onsen in the room is a luxury unheard of elsewhere and is perfect after long days exploring Kyoto.

The best hotel we've stayed at in Kyoto. Very spacious, even for the smaller room. Great front desk staff and amenities, with a washer/dryer in each room. A 4-minute walk from the Yamato luggage delivery service and 18 minutes to Kyoto Station, with a Family Mart 15 seconds from the front door. Highly recommended!

"Beautiful hotel, the monks attending are really nice, definitely go to the morning ceremony, it is worth it. This is near everything and very centric to all the landmarks nearby. "We enjoyed our stay at the temple. We booked a superior room with the futon which I now know means sleeping on the floor.
