Hallor House: Breezy Hideaway Near Tunnels & Na Pali Trail
10/10 Excellent
"Perfect. As pictured and described. Beautifully maintained. Clean. Well stocked. The deck is a nice space to sit and read, or eat with your family. The bedrooms each sleep 2 comfortably. Note the loft is open to the living space (as pictured).Short walk to Tunnels beach. 16 minute drive to Hanalea. The communication with the staff was *great* and they provided us calm and correct guidance on how to evacuate during the recent tsunami warning.Recommend highly."
Paddle to the Beach from a Secluded Riverfront Eden-A/C-Central to Hanalei&Ke'e
10/10 Excellent
"We had a wonderful stay at this property. It is in a rural area and we enjoyed all the tropical sounds of birds, rain, chickens (yes, dogs but that didn't bother us) and of course the lovely little river behind the house. The property was very clean, well stocked with soft linens and comfortable beds. The owner Mark was just terrific, very responsive and helpful! Looking forward to a return visit :-)."
Tunnels Beach short walk, AirConditioned home TVR 1344 , TAT 000-961-1264-01
10/10 Excellent
"Awesome property, great management, amazing location! Stayed a week with four adults and three children. Plenty of room with three separate bedrooms and a huge back patio. Internet worked great and our Verizon phones still had a signal. We’ve been to the island before and stayed in a beautiful resort. This was our first time renting a vacation house. It will definitely be the new standard. Don’t miss out on this amazing property. If you’re not familiar with Kauai, this property is the area you want to stay! Secluded, walking distance to the best snorkeling, and surrounded by nature. Solid 5 Stars. "
Paddle to the Beach from a Private Family Retreat-Central to Hanalei And Ke'e
10/10 Excellent
"Property was as advertised and well equipped. The location is fairly tucked away on a small river with two beaches close by. There was a small general store and coffee shop close by which were handy to avoid extra trips to Hanalei. Mark was very responsive so check in and out were simple. Would recommend. "
"If you are looking to relax, this is the place. Beautiful view & sound of the ocean. The massage at the spa on premises is life changing. There is also a coffee shop & a restaurant so there is no need to leave this oasis in paradise. "
Traditional Hawaiian House - Walk to Tunnels Beach
10/10 Excellent
"The host was especially generous and cooperative with our plans. He went out of his way to work with me and VRBO to get the booking done after technical issues created some barriers. The home is a very nice and quaint set up with everything you need, especially AC. There were plenty of towels! We didn’t walk to the beach nearby because most of our plans were on other parts of the island. The location is fine but for us, it wasn’t ideal since our plans took us back to other parts of the island. So my one recommendation is to be aware of the travel time if you plan on island wide activities. One lovely benefit of the location is how dark it is and the wondrous amount of stars you can see with the naked eye. Amazing! The only disappointment was not seeing any of the animals that are typically on the neighboring property. Overall, wonderful host and home that I would highly recommend. "
"WOW is the best place to describe this property. It's in a beautiful area of the island, super private and quiet. Situated on Haena Beach, just steps to Tunnels Beach that offers the best snorkeling in Kauai. The views from the living room are spectacular. We enjoyed morning coffee watching the sunrise and planning the day's activities out on the lanai The house had everything we needed from kitchen utensils, to beach chairs, snorkeling gear, floats and an iced chest. There is 1 bedroom/bath upstairs with the rest of the living area. We let my Mom stay in that room so that she did not have to navigate the stairs as often (bad knees!). 2 of the bedrooms downstairs are ocean view, a 3rd with 2 twin beds would work well for kiddos! I loved the character of the house, a bit older but well kept. The property grounds are fantastic, one could spend all day admiring the plants and flowers. I was concerned that the house did not have AC, but staying in early June, it did not bother us, other than one night that was unusually still. But, they provide fans which helped our TX family who is used to AC get comfortable. We never had an issue with mosquitos as others noted in the reviews.A couple of tips: When you walk out on the beach from the house, take a right. Walk out to the far point for spectacular sunset views (we even saw monk seals swimming in the water!). If you walk out the left around the other point, you will be on Tunnels Beach. We hope to return! Natalie @natpietsch "
Tiki Hut Cottage - Lush Tropical Garden, ;Walk to Tunnels Beach TVNCU#5161
10/10 Excellent
"The Tiki Hut is the perfect secluded slice of paradise for anyone looking for a quiet tropical beach getaway. Toni’s property and gardens are pristinely manicured for you to sink into island time and enjoy your stay on the beautiful island of Kauai. My wife and I truly enjoyed our extended stay at the property. It has all of the amenities someone would need, easy 5 min walk to tunnels beach for the best snorkeling on the island, and the best greeter/guard dog out there. We cannot wait to come back and visit! "
