We stayed 4 nights for our anniversary and unfortunately spent more time dealing with problems than relaxing. SAFETY ISSUE, POORLY HANDLED: There were nails sticking up from the carpet at the bathroom threshold. One punctured my foot. We called the front desk, left the room so they could fix it, and returned to find it hadn't been touched - I stepped on it again. We called a second time and were essentially told "sorry, we'll send someone right up," the exact same response as the first call, hours later. HOUSEKEEPING/CLEANLINESS: We threw out a pair of contact lenses one night. The next day, after being out, we came back to find them on the floor. Unsettling, and again nobody had actually been in to properly service the room despite our requests. ROOM ISSUES FROM CHECK-IN: We had problems with our room from the start, and fixing it cost us extra money out of pocket since no other rooms were available at our price point. DINING: Prices were extremely high relative to quality and service - $35 for sparkling water and truffle fries, and a 40-minute wait for a dipping sauce on the terrace that never arrived. We ended up leaving without it. Seagulls also aggressively dive-bombed guests at every patio meal. We later ate at The Rock golf course restaurant nearby and got much better food for a fraction of the price. The cabin was cute with all the natural wood on the inside. The deck is in need of lot of repair as some boards were rotten. We decided not to use the patio chairs as all the welds were broken and we didn’t want to get hurt. To use the bbq we would have had to spend $30 for the propane tank. Good thing we didnt because the bbq was completely falling apart rotten on the inside. When we first went in the keycode lock door is kind of tricky to use. I think because of the natural wood in the bathroom and some people are not very clean, all i could smell was urine. I left the bathroom door closed and its window wide open to keep the smell in there. I liked that it came with a full sized kitchen so we had a stove and oven and fridge and were supplied a small amount of pans and stuff to use. I did have to go to town to get dish soap as i am not sure what was in the bottle supplied but it didn’t seem like dish soap. No cleaners are supplied. Make sure you bring extra toilet paper as they charge extra for more then one roll. Last thing was that our septic holding tank would over flow every time we flushed the toilet and all you could smell was sewage out on the front deck after. There was some miscommunication due to language barriers while we were there. The lake view was amazing! Our fire pit was right on the water it was very nice. The cottage was cute but needs quite a bit of maintenance.
