4.6/5Wonderful! (77 reviews)
As a former occasional guest of the hotel I was happily surprised of the extent of preserving the pre-reconstruction atmosphere and features in public areas. And the hotel staff is maintaining an understated but personable service. The arcade still felt a little too dated and the lobby could have had a tiny more updated feel in my opinion. I stayed in the Prestige Tower and the guest room was fabulous even from the bathroom. Everything was appointed perfectly with quiet classic elegance and what a beautiful view! Housekeeping was perfect.
The only thing I missed was the usual hotel room instruction / info type of book. There was a book with minimal info which was in the hidden drawer of the round table which I saw for the first time my last night there when the housekeeper left the drawer a little open. I was told most of the info was given on TV but nevertheless I missed the written info. I could have used a small card with all the telephone numbers of the hotel services in the drawer by the telephone.
I only ate at Orchid Room buffet breakfast and lunch, and had a drink at Crystal Lounge on the top floor with a fantastic view. I have seen a fancier spread of breakfast but it was still very good.
