We just returned from our stay posada del mar. Was very leary after seeing most recent reviews of hotel. Hotel room was fine and clean. Nice balcony with chairs, great view of ocean and nice pool to swim in, was cleaned ev a.m. Five of us all agreed that beds were very comfortable.Hard to get beach towels, maybe bring one from home. Yes, there were a couple of crabby front desk people.Internet does not work in rooms, restaurant or hotel lobby only. Would stay here again for sure. Great location

My wife and I had a great time-the food was excellent as were the view, rooms, pools and spa (we had great massages). The only two things that could be improved but would not stop us from returning: the water pressure and the people brought in from other resorts for vacation club tours. We always got chairs at the pool, but it seems unfair that people who paid substantially less at other resorts are able to come take amenities from paying guests). However, there are so many wonderful things about this resort that my wife and I are already planning a trip back!
This is our second year staying at the Villas Coco. It was very welcoming to see the same warm and friendly staff that made our first year stay so delightful. The rooms are comfortable with jet tubs in each bathroom and good beds. The location is slightly hidden away from the traffic on the quieter south end of the island with several good restaurants and beach facilities nearby. We rented a golf cart for a few days and explored; including some of the nightlife at the busier/tourist oriented north end of Isla.
We stayed for over a week in an oceanview king. The room was small but adequate. Nice balcony and access to pools, ocean front, restaurant, and other amenities. Staff service was excellent. They really go above and beyond. Glad to see that in light of the typical stray issue that the hotel owners have adopted two cats and a dog. They made the experience even more enjoyable.

Things that I liked :
- food in the restaurant really good!
- staff very friendly
- room with a big flat screen tv and a lot of water with no extra charge
- Really nice view from the pool
Things that I didn't like :
- TV ( only Netflix )
- Elevator was not working
- Gym is not finished ( machines not working, a lot of dust and no light )
- The hotel is under construction ( a lot of noise ) need at least 10 more month to be ready
- No reception or any body that can help / assist you after 10pm
- The pool was not clean ( maybe because the rain )
My overall 6 out of 10.
hotel is in a fantastic location - one block from beach access and about a 5 minute walk from playa norte. literally all the restaurants, bars and shops are just outside the door but it's set off one block from Hidalgo so it's really quiet. pleasant hotel with nice amenities and staff was great.
clientele was in the 50-60+ range - no idea why but if you're looking to meet people, this probably isn't the best place.
i found it very pleasant and very convenient to everything. the beaches were gorgeous and you can walk from the access behind the hotel all the way around playa norte.
the wifi wasn't great - at least in my room...out in public areas it was better but don't think about streaming netflix or anything from the room.
The staff was so very friendly and helpful that I would return for that alone! I did have the smallest room, yet it was well furnished and even had a laptop for me to use. Because it was the smallest room, I did get a very reasonable rate. My room did not have a window because it was an interior room so, I would ask for that, as well. The renovations are nice, yet I wish there was a lobby space to hang out. Thank you for a wonderful and affordable stay on Isla!
Accessible by ferry, Isla Mujeres is a major ecotourism destination. El Parque Natural Garrafón (Garrafón Natural Reef Park) features coral reefs inhabited by schools of fish. Giant sea turtles come ashore at Tortugranja to lay eggs. North of Isla Mujeres, thousands of rare and tropical birds roost at a natural sanctuary on Isla Contoy.
