Casa Anzuelo is a place to escape from the world, so if your goal is a peaceful place to read, think and enjoy the ocean & the warmth of the weather, then this is the place for you. "The furnishings are worn. The second bedroom is only suitable for small children. The house is only a few metres from a busy main road with noisy traffic. The beach is unattractive. The water is too shallow for swimming. And the house is NOT in the “historic centre” of Portobelo, which is several kilometres away and consists of the ruins of a fort and a church. We were so disappointed we left after one night."

"The hotel is in a beautiful setting overlooking the ocean. The pool and deck are great to relax in and watch the waves. The restaurant food was good (need hour notice for dinner). The rooms are really rustic and ours did not have AC. Also, note that there is not a public beach on Isla Grande. We spent all day at Coconuts on the other side of island at their beach and would probably stay there if we went again. We were traveling with 2 teens. "
