The photo was taken 3250 feet in the air in a Cessna 150. The photo was taken with the purpose of showing that there are many various parts of the Appalachian community. Some people live near large mountain like Grand Father, but there are others that live next to small mountains like New Hope. It doesn’t matter how large the mountain is nearby, all that matter is they live near or on a mountain. They all are a part of the Appalachia society.

« The whole house was very clean and had games, dice and a deck of cards to use! The kitchen was fully stocked with utensils and cooking equipment, the yard was well kept and the hot tub was very clean as well. The hosts were very quick to respond and were super accommodating the entire stay. Less than a 10 minute drive to a boat ramp and provided paddle board worked perfectly! »

« The space was great for multiple families coming together. There are 2 larger rooms (1 king, 1 queen) with attached full baths that are great for small families with young kids. There are 2 smaller bedrooms (queen beds) good for childless members or older kids, then there’s the bunk room. All 3 of those share a bathroom, which is a downside - but wasn’t a problem for us (note: 1 of the queens does have a toilet & small sink - but no shower).The common area is fantastic. « Our Girl Scout troop and leaders had a great time at this cabin on Lake Norman! There was plenty of room for all 14 of us with the multiple levels and large rooms. We loved the wood burning fireplace since it was cold all weekend. The only small complaint was the amenities in the kitchen could use some updating, like no wine bottle opener and limited pots and pans. We just went out and bought the items we needed.
