We absolutely loved the location and the manager was extra nice. However, the cabin was not very clean and there was mold in every corner of the cabin. The sheets and towels were clean!

The owner was very nice, he showed me around the house on check-in. The house is a lovely renovated farmhouse that really gave the “get away cottage” vibes. Be ready to drive ~30 minutes on a dirt road to get there, but don’t be afraid, my 2 wheel drive compact car did it just fine, the road is in good condition. There’s a nice little trail going to the sea very nearby.

Hostel that is better than many guesthouses

Hostel that is better than many guesthouse with nice location with panaromic view and short distance to Hvitserkur. My daughter love this place the most compared to oth guesthouses and hotels we stayed. Got a huge room that can sleep 5 for 3 of us with nice view to the ocean. There are 3 levels in total for this property with shared kitchen equipped with freezer and fridge, stove and oven at both kitchens. The lower level kitchen also has washing machine and dryer that can be used for frer compared to other guesthou]ses that I hv been to that charged ISK4,500 for the laundry service. Laundromat will cost about IDK3,000. The staff at the reception is very friendly and helpful to show us to the property and our room.

We had the cabin and it was AMAZING! Just a cozy, wood cabin vibe. Three rooms so lots of options for our group (I think there were 8 beds total). The kitchen space was a bit small but had everything we needed. The host who greeted us was the best. We are not sure his name, but serious appreciation to him. The property is a working farm close to a beach and the Elephant Rock formation. 10/10 would recommend!

Loved staying here. Very peaceful and quiet with great walking paths around it. It is a bit of a drive off the highway but you are rewarded at the end for sure!

It was a kind of old building and the interior was outdated as well. We couldn’t use the shades at the window as they were broken - as it never gets dark in summer, it was very unpleasant. It was very clean though but nevertheless, I had superior stays in Iceland for that price, especially as you had to make and strip your own bed. Owner, however, was very friendly.

Cottages were amazing for our family. Kitchen was equipped with all the required utensils. We went with cottage because we wanted the private bathrooms. There were 8 beds in the cottage, they did give 4 bed sheets. We had to put them on whatever beds we choose to sleep on. :) Unfortunately there was no shower gel/shampoo/conditioner. We didn't get any notification that it won't be there. This place was amazing and surrounded with lambs, horses and birds. would recommend to any one.

Einfach Unterkunft

Die Lage der Unterkunft ist sehr schön. Das Zimmer ist sehr klein. Bettwäsche muss selbst auf und abgezogen werden. Was kein Problem wäre, leider haben die Bezüge kleine Öffnungen um die Decke/das Kissen in die Bettwäsche zu bekommen. Beleuchtung: hätte heller sein können. Badezimmer in die Jahre gekommen und nicht richtig sauber. WC Sitz lose. Küche: rustikal, zweckmässig. Kiosk: es gibt dort Getränke, Souvenirs etc. zu kaufen. Parkplatz: auf dem Hof, kostenlos. Personal: sehr freundlich. Umgebung: kurzer Weg zum Strand und zum Hvítserkur. Gut zu Fuß von der Unterkunft zu erreichen.

My family especially likes the beach behind our cabin with seals on the other side. And we could walk to the famous rock in 20 minutes and come back in 10 minutes. The cabin is big. Only drawback is no cooking oil or salt/sugar in the Kitchenette, but the staff was very nice , he borrowed us his salt so we could be able to make some simple breakfast

Great people, great place, great views

We had a great stay at Osar Hostel. The owner explained us everything and showed us a beach, where we could watch the seals later that night. All in all a perfect spot to spend the night during our Iceland trip. Will definitely book this place again on our next trip to Iceland

Freundlicher Empfang in atemberaubender Landschaft

Das Ósar Hostel ist ein Juwel auf der Halbinsel Vatnsnes. Wer dort übernachtet, hat das Glück, nicht nur Schafe, sondern auch Seehunde vom Zimmerfenster aus beobachten zu können. Der Felsen Hvitserkur ist in einem kurzen (schwarzen) Strandspaziergang erreichbar. Der Ausblick vom alten Farmhaus über den Fjord und das Meer ist unglaublich. Die Zimmer sind funktional aber sehr gemütlich eingerichtet, die Betten sehr bequem. Das Bad war super sauber und die Gemeinschaftsküche sehr gut ausgestattet. Wir waren die einzigen Gäste und wurden mega freundlich empfangen - absolute Empfehlung!
