8.2/10 Very good! (555 reviews)
Breakfast was great, so I’ll start with the positives! Unfortunately that’s where the highlights end.
It’s a cheap-ish hotel so I wasn’t expecting any kind of five star experience, but it is very run down and shabby throughout. I arrived late after an event in Birmingham, bar area was already closed at 10.30pm so zero food or drinks available, not even a vending machine. The receptionist was kind enough, and suggested using Just Eat but after realising it was a £10 delivery fee I ruled that out pretty quickly! Popped back to reception after checking into my room to find it in darkness and not a soul around. One decaf teabag in my room had to do!
Bathroom smelled mouldy and was badly in need of renovation, bed was lumpy and the room was pretty chilly. I won’t be rushing back.

9.2/10 Wonderful! (2,248 reviews)
"There was plenty of food to choose from. The cooked food was cooked well and of good quality. Only criticisms is that for me there could have been a wider choice of fruit and that finding room to sit at breakfast was quite difficult, despite the efforts of the staff to prepare tables as soon as they ..."
