"Terrible room smell and painting off the walls room stank!"

"The parking situation at this hotel is extremely frustrating. The lot is very small, and it can be difficult to find parking, especially during busy times. The lobby is beautiful, but unfortunately it’s deceiving because the experience beyond that was disappointing. I booked a double room and asked if I could switch to a king. The staff told me that people would be checking out and that I should call the front desk the next morning. I did exactly that—every single morning during my stay—and each time I was given the same excuse. I completely understand if the hotel was full and a king room wasn’t available, but repeatedly telling me to “call tomorrow” instead of just being honest felt misleading and dismissive. The room itself also had several issues. The installation appeared poorly done, and the sheets felt damp to the point that it was uncomfortable and difficult to sleep. The beds were also not sturdy and were not properly attached to the headboard. Because of this, the beds slid around easily, which felt unstable and honestly seems like a safety risk that management should definitely address. Overall, the lobby creates the impression of a nice hotel, but the rooms and the service did not match that standard. I expected a much better experience."

"We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The property was clean, well-maintained, and very welcoming from the moment we arrived. The room was comfortable, smelled fresh, and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The staff was friendly, helpful, and made check-in and check-out smooth and easy. We really appreciated the overall atmosphere—it felt safe, peaceful, and well taken care of. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and reliable place to stay. "

"We stayed at this Springhill location on 2 non consecutive dates, on either side of our march 2026 spring break cruise. On our 1st stay Cedric the gentleman at the front desk over night went above and beyond to help us set up a last minute shuttle to the cruiseport, after a very late night arrival (during the government shut down tsa delay time period). The property was very nice and close to several walkable fastfood locations, gas stations, and a rental car place. Great value for the money spent. In our return visit they went out of their way to help us get checked in early since we had got back from the cruise port a couple hours ahead of schedule, and had a very early flight the next morning. We caught the 1st shuttle in the morning (4am), if using the shuttle get downstairs a half hour early, as it is a shared shuttle with the sister marriot location, and doesnt allow for pre-booking the shuttle, instead they call every 30 minutes about 10-15 minutes before scheduled time to see if service is needed. The only slight negative would be breakfast (we only got it the 1st stay due to timing of our flight) it was not bad by any means just not as good as i would hope from a marriot which is one of the 3 brands i trust to stay at. Powdered eggs frozen sausage type thing. All in all it was an excellent stay both times."

"I should have read the reviews before booking however it was worth it for the price. This is an older hotel not too many upgrades. Also, the TV did not work properly."

"We did not eat at the hotel, but the rooms were great as was the staff we interacted with. It is very convenient to any downtown activity and we had a great view of the fireworks show after the Astros game! The only criticism I have is that the elevators are VERY slow. But, I would love to stay there again."
