"An enchanting, rustic cabin, perfect for a couple’s getaway. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Melrose Cabin, there were many pros and just a few cons. Pros- the location was just outside of main street Highlands, and just on the highway to Franklin with its beautiful scenic drive. The cabin itself had a very cozy, fairytale cottage vibe. It had everything we needed. The hosts were very easy to reach and communication was easy via text. Cons- the rustic was indeed just that: very rustic! There is no central AC, only a window unit in one bedroom, which was hard to regulate for both noise and air while we slept. The stairway was somewhat slippy and steep, and gave the impression of climbing into a treehouse. Maybe not a con, but also just tricky for anyone with mobility issues or small kids. All-in-all, a fun experience and suited our needs for our 2 night stay!"

"The receptionist recognized that we were senior citizens and gave us a room very close to the office and parking lot. We were pleasantly surprised by the generous size of the bedroom and enjoyed the separate area for the closet and dressing. The shower was wonderful. We enjoyed a pleasant evening sitting on the large outdoor area. We were disappointed that we couldn't access YouTube and Netflix."

"We had a wonderful stay in Highlands! The house was exactly as pictured—comfortable, well-appointed and a great home base for our time in the mountains. The host was extremely responsive and helpful, and the location was perfect—so convenient to downtown Highlands while still feeling like a mountain getaway.And best of all, the weather in late August and September was absolutely heavenly. Cool mornings, beautiful days and such a welcome escape from the Florida heat! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return."
