Aurora Denali Lodge

"The thing I liked the most was that it wasn't a chain....it felt...local. I liked that. The hotel was clean and well put together. I think I stayed in the older section across the parking lot but it was still very clean. I very much appreciated the staff. The young lady who checked me in was very pleasant and personable. She was definitely a local having grown up in Healy and only making it as far as Fairbanks for college. Very helpful, answered my questions and was an excellent representative for the hotel. Additionally, they were selling drinks and snacks in the lobby......for a dollar a piece. A 12 oz diet coke and a bag of Nilla wafers! The cheapest I have seen in decades and considering it was in Alaska (as expensive as it is) ....I took notice."

"I am glad that the host sent me a message stating that I would need an AWD for getting to the cabin. It is a very steep hill! The pictures do not do the mattresses justice! They were so comfortable and the cabin was just as it was pictured. I am not one to like camping but this trip was a gift to my daughter and she happens to love camping...this cabin was great for both of us. I am glad for the 5 gallon bucket of water that the host had at the sink."

"Fine place to stay in remote Alaska on the north side of Denali. Very quiet at night except for the faint sounds of dogs from the dog sled kennels nearby, and that made it perfect! I was surprised to arrive to the room they placed us in, it was fine and clean, but shocking."

"We spent two days at the cabin. Pros: - Excellent location, just 20 minutes from Denali National Park, which made the early morning bus tours much easier, and only 5 to 10 minutes from Three Bears, a well stocked grocery store - Wildlife right outside the door: we spotted rabbits and squirrels from the kitchen window and woke up to birdsong each morning - A well equipped kitchen for cooking needs. Something which took us some time to get used to (very understandable given the remote location): - The toilet is an outhouse style setup - Hot water is limited, so need to be flexible with cleaning routine."

"Excellent place with an amazing view facing the lake and the mountain and about 30 minutes from Denali park. We find this place clean and quiet with helpful staff. This place is right next to Denali ATV adventure which is also super fun. Overall a very good experience."

"The location is perfect for seeing Denali. 49th state brewing is right around the road which was nice. The property is beautiful with tons of snowshoe hares running about. The home itself and furnishings are a bit dated compared to the cost. This might be in part due to limited options in the area. Ann was a lovely host, and it was easy to check in. The home was a good size for 6 adults. We would definitely consider staying here again in the future with a larger group."
