The kitchen was perfectly stocked for cooking meals. The beds were comfy and the home had plenty of towels and other beach supplies. We enjoyed our stay very much. Kept busy enjoying the sights, Waimea Canyon, Na Pali coast, helicopter ride, hiking,.All very spectacular. For me it was the smaller things that stole my heart such as starting my day with a morning jog on the beach and a dip in the ocean. So glad there were yoga mats at the house. I got to start and end each day with relaxing yoga on the outside balcony while enjoying the views of the mountains and the sounds of the ocean.. We were a family of 6 adults and 1 toddler. The house was large enough and the room and balcony layout gave everyone enough space to spread out. The house also has plenty of sand /beach toys to enjoy. The lack of air conditioning was only a problem if you wanted to nap during the day otherwise the airflow through the house kept things comfortable. I can’t wait to go back! ##### Paula K. This place is awesome, perfect location (walk to town, walk to two different beach entrances) and a really good layout for families with all bedrooms on one floor and not hard to hear baby crying across living room. Also under the house is stocked with everything you need for the beach. 5 chairs, a pull cart, a surfboard and two boogie boards (and more). The best part about it is there are essentially two different style beaches you can go to from the house. The one to the left has waves and is less crowded and the one to the right (by the pier) is slightly more crowded but it has a calm low tide “pond” that is perfect for all kids under 5\. There are also super easy boogie boarding waves for kids in the afternoon and if you’re willing to paddle for 10 min there is an incredible reef break if you know what you’re doing surfing. We were a bit nervous about the lack of AC but it wasn’t a problem at all. It cooled down and/or rained every night we were there and was actually really nice to just have natural air flowing through. Just make sure you don't turn on a light at night or the roosters will think its the sun and wake up the whole neighborhood! (To be clear, this is true everywhere on Kauai). We will 100% be coming back! ##### Nick N. There are wrap-around lanais, interior and exterior fans, and walls of windows and sliding doors that keep the home cool, so we did not miss air conditioning. We enjoyed walks on the beach each morning and relaxing on the back lanai with views of the lush mountains every evening. The small town, with a few bars, restaurants and shops, was also walking distance. Tip: For groceries, if you can’t hit Costco by the airport, opt for Foodland in Princeville rather than Big Save Market in Hanalei for quality and variety. The house itself was clean, well-designed and comfortable. And the owners were FABULOUS. Thank you again, David and Karen, for the special birthday gift for my dad's 80th. If we are lucky enough to return to Kauai one day, this is where we will stay. ##### Cherish W. The house was clean and very comfortable. I was a little bit concerned that it did not have airconditioning, but the house was nice and breezy! The house is surrounded by beautiful vegetation and the views were just amazing!! We felt like we were in a tree house! We spent a lot of time on the lanais, which were always shady and had plenty of breeze! The beach and restaurants are just minutes away! We love Hanalei and we love this house! Home is spacious and breezy and stocked with all one may need for both staying in or strolling to town. The house was perfect for our family of five. Our kids range from 11 to 18 years and this will go down as one of our best family vacations ever. We spent 3 days in Maui and then came to spend a week in Kauai on the north shore. My husband and I honeymooned here in Princeville 20 years ago and we were so excited to share it with our kids. It was important to us that we went somewhere not overwhelmed by tourists and somewhere where we could walk to the beach and also to amenities when needed. Hanalei is so charming and filled with the nicest people. We enjoyed meeting many of the shop and restaurant owners and even hung with some on the beach! We loved how the entire house could open up for the fresh ocean breezes and the sounds of the island all accompanied by gorgeous views. We did not miss air conditioning or electronics! We hiked, swam, snorkeled, kayaked, boogie boarded and more! We ate the most amazing local food at the food trucks and restaurants. We found the best little gifts and honey at the Saturday Farmer's Market. We read and napped on the amazing lanais. Queen's Bath was one of our favorite day activities and also kayaking on the Wailua (Kayak Wailua) with the hike to the stunning waterfall. We did not want to go home! The house had everything we needed. Thank you for sharing this special place. It was just what we needed after two years of the pandemic and before my oldest goes off to college. It is perfect. The home is so beautiful, its designed perfectly. Master bedroom/bath on one end, two rooms 1 bath on the other. Completely stocked kitchen , dining room, living room in the middle. Outdoor dining, bbq, deck completely around it. You can watch the sunrise on one side of the house and the sunset on the other. Our party of 6 cooked most most meals, the kitchen was great. Washer/dryer super convenient. 3 minute walk to the beach, towels, mats, chairs, goggles, umbrellas are downstairs to use. 5 minute walk to town. We celebrated my 60th birthday with family, it was the best birthday week ever. It did get rather hot during the day if we had not been home to open the windows and doors, but the house cooled down quickly at night with doors and windows opened. Our kids were a little freaked out by the idea that anyone could enter the home with the door screens open at night, so it might be nice to add some security locks to the screens but we had no safety issues. Our kids were older - I wouldn't necessarily recommend this for toddlers who might wander in the night. The location was ideal, very near the beach, and a 10 minute walk to lots of restaurants and shops. If you choose to stay in Hanalei make sure you know about the road closure times and plan accordingly - that was very inconvenient. Overall we loved the house, would definitely stay here again, and highly recommend it. ##### Laurie H. The house was clean with all amenities and very comfortable. We had dinners at the house on the patio every night with the family and also able to walk to the beach easily. The outdoor shower was great when we return from the beach to remove all the sand. They also provided an extra cleaning service while they where there, plus gift cerficate for everyone We are looking forward to return to your wonderful home. Thank you so much ##### louise paton p.
