"Breakfast was nice, staff were very helpful. Location was great, opposite train station, tram from airport, buses into city centre close by. No coffee facilities in the bedroom, but they had fresh tea and coffee and reception whenever you wanted it. Bar restaurant next door. Rooms small and cozy, but beds and showers were lovely."

"Wonderful welcome. Fabulous staff in all areas of the hotel. Very considerate room and good shower. Sadly the pool was closed for health reasons but we still had loads of places to sit, play, drink and eat. "

"Even though I received an e-mail from Moxy via Hotels.com stating that I could check in earlier than 3 pm if rooms were available, I was told at the desk that that wasn’t true because I was not a Marriott Bonvoy member and that I needed to wait until 3 (this was at 12:30 pm). I paid 3.50 for a cup of tea and waited around another hour until there was someone new at the desk. She told me the same thing, but then offered to sign me up for their membership program so she could give me a room early. The room was very clean and comfortable, and it is a short walk to the terminal (10 minutes with luggage), which was great. There are not many food choices nearby, and the food at the restaurant downstairs was pretty bad. The burger was dry and rubbery. I did not have time before my early flight for breakfast, so don’t know if that would be any better. Overall, I would stay again if I had an early morning flight like I did but would try to venture farther for food. "

"A gorgeous hotel, super close to Waverley station and to all the sights! The staff were great and super friendly, we were kindly upgraded to a city view room, and the check in service was smooth. We were a little early to check in however, we were advised that it would only be about a 30min wait so we could wait in the bar area and have a complimentary drink which was a nice touch. The whole hotel was great, and I would definitely stay again :)"

"I recently stayed at Edinburgh Marriott Hotel West, and unfortunately, my experience was not as comfortable as I had expected. The main issue was with the bathroom design. The toilet door had roughly a 1-inch gap, which meant there was a clear line of sight both from inside and outside. If someone was using the toilet, the other person in the room could easily see them. This was extremely uncomfortable, especially since I was sharing the room with a friend. We both found ourselves feeling awkward and uncomfortable multiple times when using the bathroom. I chose not to raise this during my stay because I didn’t want to create an awkward situation with my friend, but it did affect our overall comfort quite a bit. Privacy in a bathroom is a very basic expectation, and this setup simply did not meet that standard. After my stay, I contacted support twice and was told that the hotel would get back to me. Unfortunately, I never received any response, which added to my disappointment. I’m not someone who likes leaving negative reviews, and I would have preferred to resolve this directly. However, due to the lack of response and the nature of the issue, I felt it was important to share my experience. I hope the hotel takes this feedback seriously and addresses the privacy concern so future guests do not have to go through the same situation."

"Staff was extremely helpful, and we loved our view! Having a room with a terrace meant we had a smaller room which proved to be pretty tiny. Some nice amenities and good breakfast. Incredible location, so close to everything we wanted to do."

"Stayed in a room with twin beds. Room was clean and new. Quiet at night, slept well, good shower. Good breakfast-eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, cold cuts, cheese, breads, fruit and juices. Walking distance to Edinburgh Tram. Front desk staff would not give us a late check out by one hour. Very annoying male breakfast worker moved us from the our table. We initially sat at a table for 2, but moved because a man sat nearby that had doused himself with a bottle of cologne. We moved to a table for 6 further away. The male worker said we could not sit there because it was for six people. The room was half empty and never filled more than half full the entire time we ate breakfast. He grabbed my plate of food and moved it to a table for 2. He wore no gloves. This upset me because he was removing other dirty dishes from the tables. I did not eat any of the food on the plate he touched. Instead, I returned to the buffet and filled a plate with new food. The next day, we sat at a table for 2 for breakfast. My husband left a half filled plate while he went to the buffet for something he forgot. The same man tried to take his plate and mine even though I was still eating food from it?! I yelled at him to leave us alone. Also, both days we ate there, he literally ran around the room trying to take plates from people. Also, I used the hotel lobby bathroom just before leaving. It had a strong floral scent causing me to cough and sneeze. Stop polluting the air. "
