With the continuation of the COVID-19 outbreak, traveling today comes with a few more challenges than usual. Keep in mind these valuable tips before hopping on your flight to Great Island:

• Before booking your flight, find out if any travel bans or restrictions apply — in both your origin and destination. Stay informed with the latest updates by reviewing government websites.
• You must wear a face mask at the airport, including at security checkpoints. Be ready to adjust your mask for identification purposes when asked by a TSA employee.
• Avoid handing your boarding pass (paper or electronic) directly to a TSA officer. Rather, position your pass on the scanner and then hold it up to allow the agent to visually inspect it.
• TSA is now permitting passengers to take one container of hand sanitizer, up to 12 oz (350 ml) in size, in carry-on baggage. This will have to be removed from your bag and presented for screening.
• To minimize handling during screening, place items such as your phone, wallet and keys into your carry-on instead of into the bins.
• Transport any food items in a clear plastic bag and also put them in a screening bin. Keeping your food separate from your carry-on makes it less likely that a TSA agent will need to touch and open your bag for inspection.
