Just a block from the best restaurants, bars and shopping on the Island, the location cannot be beat. With a king size bed in the master bedroom, and a full sleeper sofa in the living room, the loft comfortably sleeps up to 3 people. Whether you’re looking to spend time on The Strand, the beach, or a quick overnight before a cruise departure, this loft is the perfect home base for your trip. THERE IS NO ELEVATOR IN THIS BUILDING. IT IS ALL ONLY STAIRS! ● WINTER TEXAN RATE: Escape to the Texas Gulf Coast this winter! Ask about our reduced monthly rates October 1 - March 1\. ● Location: Historic Downtown area of Galveston, Texas, half mile from cruise ship terminal. This is a historic building with early 20th century building materials and single-pane windows. Noise may be present. ● Beach Access: Less than a 4-minute drive from the beaches at the Seawall. ● Rent BeachBox: Beach gear rentals are available! Ask us for details and rates. ● WIFI/Cable: We provide free high-speed WIFI and Roku with access to Sling TV for live television channels. Guests are welcome to log into their own streaming service apps. ● Pet Policy: 1 pet is allowed with a $25 fee per pet. When you finally get to the top floor, don't bother trying to get the DEAD TV working. You'll have plenty of time to do laundry - your clean shower towels can be found in the washing machine soaking wet. LOFT DESCRIPTION: Fails to mention the DEAD ELEVATOR that they know about and refuse to fix. Fix the bathroom mirror that doesn't hang correctly. Adjust the rug on the floor. It's a tripping hazard and the doors hang on the rug and if they would add those little multi plugs to the nightstands where you don't have to get down on the floor to plug your chargers in that would be fantastic. The property itself is in a good location. Great for walking the area. We felt safe and it was clean. Overall. It was very clean and comfortable. We did run into a minor issue- there was a blanket missing and we had to go buy one. However, the host was very responsive. They sent a link before our trip that outlines what to bring with you and what will be provided in the unit- very helpful. The building is also beautiful. The only downside is because it’s an old building you can sometimes hear the stairs creaking but it’s not loud enough to cause discomfort/disturbance. Host was very responsive with answers. Location of property in my opinion is somewhat sketchy and run down looking. Parking is a problem. Street parking is first come first serve and . I had to park around the corner most of the time and was approached by shady individuals in the evening on two occasions. Would not recommend for single female. Some of the bicycles were in disrepair with seats missing and no locks available. We really appreciated the kitchen, comfortable bed, lovely shower, and location. Check in and communicating with the host was seamless. The loft is super clean, has a great view of the church across the street. A few things you might like to know if renting this loft. Parking is a pain. The rental did not have parking, so you need to depend on street or paid lot parking. There is no elevator and we stayed on the 3rd floor. It would be nice if there had been a bar of soap larger than a quarter. So, you may want to pack a bar of soap! Also, a couple of throw blankets in the living would be nice for watching tv. We left the thermostat at 75, but at night we both got cold. Although very pretty, the bedspread/quilt is thin. An extra bed blanket in the closet would be great! We ended up having to lay the extra sheets on the bed. Packing an extra throw or blanket isn't something you plan on taking on vacation! The location is perfect for cruise stay with lovely restaurants and shopping the evening prior to cruise. The loft is as pictured. It is an older accommodation but clean and well kept! The stairs are rough especially with a 50 lb suitcase, however this is noted in the details. Would definitely stay here again. ##### Cathy C. We were leery about the parking and the stairs but didn’t have any issues with either. It has a fantastic kitchen with everything you could need for preparing meals. Good location, within walking distance to good food and drinks. The outside of the building could use some updating and the street parking is an inconvenience.
