It is the first house from the beach in a quiet residential neighborhood, nothing but beach 270 degrees around our place. The beach access point is only steps away, and the beach access is car free, not a busy car loading/unloading zone. Romantic walks on the beach are right out the door, or run the kids ragged on the beach all day then sit around the great room on the comfortable couch, or relax at the end of a 'beachy' day in your Jacuzzi tub!! Our beach is safer for kids due to no cars allowed on the beach in front of our house all year around!! Large deck on the ground floor and on the main level with plenty of seating and an additional top-floor deck are the perfect setting to enjoy the beautiful unobstructed view and listen to the peaceful sound of the waves. House has plenty of windows with unobstructed ocean views. With \~ 1900 sqft, the house has an open living/dining area, 3 good-sized bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms and 1 outdoor hot water shower, sleeping 13 comfortably. Both floors have a high ceiling which is a rare find for beach houses and will give you the breezy feel even inside. The whole first floor has hardwood flooring, the second floor master bedroom has luxury vinyl plank flooring (installed Oct 2021), with hardwood staircase connecting the two floors. No carpet in house! The master suite on the top floor has its own deck boasting the highest ocean views in the neighborhood. The master suite has a king-sized bed and a twin bed. The master bathroom has a double vanity, walk-in shower, and a jet tub with ocean view. The downstairs main floor has two spacious bedrooms that are separated by a full bathroom. The living/dining area has an open floor plan with direct ocean views from all nine windows. Kitchen is spacious, with plenty of counter space and a window of direct ocean view. Kitchen connects to the full-size laundry room with a washer and a dryer. The living area opens to a large wood deck with a direct and unobstructed view of the beach and ocean. The wood deck is 2/3 covered so that you can enjoy the outdoor breeze and ocean view within the shade for as long as you'd like! The ground floor has a spacious covered wood deck with a picnic table and an outdoor hot/cold shower shed which also stores beach chairs, toys, canopy, and a Weber 22-inch master-touch charcoal grill for guests to use (bring your own charcoal). The ground floor has easy access to a car-free walking path to the beach; in fact, the beach access is just outside the driveway! The walking path is sandy and does not require you to navigate through grasses. Just come down from the house anytime and you will be right on the beach -- no more hassles of finding beach parking or dragging your beach gears over a long walk! We provide almost everything you would need to feel like home! All beddings are provided for the beds that you would need -- sheets, pillows, pillowcases, and comforters/quilts -- all beddings are washed between guests. Plenty of bath towels, beach towels, shampoo/conditioner/body wash/soap, and toilet paper are stocked in the two bathrooms. Four Smart TVs in the house, with Netflix, PrimeVideo, and SlingTV for live streaming of sports and shows. Family-size refrigerator and electric range with convection oven. Two coffee makers, one traditional and one Keurig. The kitchen is fully equipped with cutting boards, non-stick pans of different sizes, baking pans, pyrex baking dishes, cooking utensils, plenty of plates, cups, glasses, silverware, and napkins. House has exterior cameras on the ground floor for security monitoring. No cameras inside the house. The subdivision Spanish Grant is within 7 miles to all major attractions and in Galveston. Our cancellation policy is firm in all circumstances. Renters can purchase trip insurance from HomeAway or Vrbo directly to protect their trip. House can park up to 4 cars on premises for free. Due to its premiere beachfront location, there is no on-street parking. Our nightly price depends on the number of guests, children included. Additional guest fee applies for guest #7 and above till the maximum occupancy. Please indicate the exact number of guests at booking and the quote will reflect that. If you increase the number of guests after your reservation is made, additional guest fee may apply if the number of guests exceed 6\. We allow only house-trained pets with a $100 fee per pet per stay. Maximum four (4) pets allowed on premises. The booking platform charges $100 if you indicate pet at booking and that covers one pet only. If you have more than one pets approved by the owners, you will receive separate payment request to collect the pet fee for additional pets. Clean after your pets or additional cleaning fee will be charged. Inside cozy, well stocked and great appliances. Being on non-driving part of beach felt like private beach 75% of the time. A coat of paint on outside/deck and it should be the #1 rental in the neighborhood. Sunrise awesome. Late night seeing many ships lined up in the distance to get to the port was amazing. A storm blew in on our last day and the water rolled all the way to a couple yards from the house's sea barrier.The house looks washed out compared to many adjacent properties, but the main deck and interior are well kept and very comfortable. We had no pets and although pet friendly, there was no odor or hair anywhere.Issues communicated to the host: coffee machine needed to be cleaned and hot water was intermittent.The host goes to great length to provide everything you need for the stay. Everyone got to enjoy the view and the beach. This house has thoughtful touches throughout. Beach towels, trash bags, ziplocks, Febreeze in the bathrooms. It’s so easy to feel comfortable here. This older home has an old fashioned beach-cottage feel and has what I grew up in the south calling double or triple exposure in nearly every room. In other words, lots and lots of windows allowing for beautiful ocean views and an abundance of sunlight. Due to the angle of the house each of the three bedrooms have ocean views. Unusual and quite remarkable. Communication with the hosts was exceptional; responsive and accommodating. We brought our 95 year old friend to the house in order to give him a break from his retirement home living. Naturally we had lots of questions as we prepared for our trip and Peggy was quick with her helpful answers. The beach wagon, umbrella and chairs provided in the downstairs room were a lifesaver.Our only disappointment was that the home was not quite as pictured (on the website). The house looks like it could use a coat of paint and a little TLC in several areas. Decking is not in as good shape as pictured though both outside areas are absolutely wonderful places to enjoy the ocean's beauty. Overall I highly recommend this house. This location was great if you prefer quiet- we do. This home was super clean on the inside and had some very thoughtful items for guest use. I have food allergies so it’s nice to cook and have everything that you need to do so. We appreciated the guest access to beach towels and chairs and a beach umbrella. There was a canopy and a wagon though both need to be replaced because they are rusted and neither work well.The hose and shower downstairs were great to wash off the layer before going inside. The photos aren’t current, as it seems there has been lots of storm damage and quality has suffered, especially with the outside appearance. For the price we paid we expected higher quality for sure. Also, there are window air conditioners in all bedrooms and the main living area. Besides an eye sore all of us were disturbed sleeping with the noise going on and off of the units. Also there are huge bails of hay between the house and the beach on the right side and zero grass. We really didn’t care but if you plan to have some grass at the house to take your dog, plan to walk a bit. Overall, it is a great find if you can lock in a more reasonable price because of what it is currently. ##### Amy R. We enjoyed our stay here so much that we came back for a second stay. Our first stay was two years ago, we had put dog, a 3 year old, and older family with us and it was the perfect spot. This time around was just as good for us, especially having a 3 month old added to the mix this time. Not sure you can possibly get any closer to the water, the house has everything you need, and location is cozy, quiet, and not too far from the hot spots by the sea wall. I cant recommend this place enough. A/Cs blow cold, beds are comfy, water gets hot, and I love the outside shower coming up from the beach to rinse off. There are stairs, so as long as you're prepared for that, its all good.
