"What an absolute hidden gem! Our family decided last minute to take a road trip and we could not have been more fortunate to have landed at this incredible place! We ended up getting into the area a day early, the hosts could not have been more accommodating to get us into the house a day in advance. The house was stunning, the area was serene and peaceful, the local surroundings were welcoming and everyone was so kind, we felt right at home. We know exactly where we will be going if we travel back to North Carolina! Thank you!"

"Room was large and well cleaned, it came with a sticked kitchenette. The hotel has a nice restaurant in site with outdoor seating overlooking the French Broad River. The hotel was like a museum for the original jail with information on display. The room we stayed in had several original features of the old jail."

"First, I want to say the hosts were very kind and welcoming—that part of the stay was genuinely appreciated. However, the listing is quite misleading when it comes to amenities. There is no spa or hot springs, and there is no on-site restaurant or bar as suggested. The property itself feels more like a converted family home that has been turned into a bed-and-breakfast, with former kids bedrooms now rented out individually. Because of the gap between what was advertised and what we experienced, we were very disappointed and ultimately chose to leave early."

"This is such a wonderful place. Very beautiful and quiet. We enjoyed sitting in the large covered porch and looking over city and French Broad River. The room was marvelous and shower was wonderful. Very clean and the bed was marvelous. We slept so well. We will be back!!!’ The host even reached out to see if we wanted to sleep in a bit to extend check out!!!
