Velora Hinton, an Ascend Collection Hotel

"Room was spacious and comfortable, with plenty of storage and a good bed. However our suite had a kitchenette with dishes, full-sized fridge and a small cooktop, but no sink. A bit odd if you can’t really cook since there’s no way to wash anything. Pool area and jacuzzi were nice appearing, but upon further inspection the jacuzzi had been painted over on the interior and it was very slippery. Breakfast was complimentary next door at an Indian restaurant, but the eggs were a bit cold and rubbery even at 6:30am."

"Our cabin was cozy and rustic, one bedroom with a bed and t.v. Bathroom was clean and modern, plenty of hot water. Bed was comfortable. Couldn't figure out how to use the gas fireplace. Written instructions would have been helpful. We stayed for 1 night only which was fine, but I don't think I'd want to stay for a whole week. The cabin was too basic but I think there are nicer cabins available."

"I loved this property with fire rings lit in evenings and mornings. There’s a pool and a game room. It’s a bit remote but cabins have a refrigerator and stove. Comfortable bed. Nice bath. Deck on the cabin provided a nice place for dinner. There’s a nice gift shop with a few food items. I was hoping for more of a convenience store. I look forward to staying here again!"

"Great staff, super friendly/helpful. Clean rooms, nice water pressure in shower. Bar/lounge very nice, friendly folks, good service. Overall probably best value of all the places we stayed on an 11 day trip over 5 locations. Not the newest of hotels but well maintained with great staff."
