"We have stayed at the Amanzi Hotel in Ventura 3 times now. Each time the hotel was well-maintained, staff friendly and now that the outdoor pool, jacuzzi and lounging area is finished, there's even more amenities. Yes, it's very close to the Amtrak train tressel, but that's kind of interesting. Ample free parking. The rooms are very clean and large and nicely appointed. There is a free breakfast. It's typical for free breakfasts: eggs, potatoes, breakfast meats, fresh fruit, bagels, waffles, bread. It's not a luxurious hotel. It's a very nice hotel and walkable to the beach, downtown Ventura and even to the local hiking. It's perfect!"

"Dinner was 250 and we both didn’t even order entrees after we order the ceaser salad takes over an hour to get to the table and was just kinda mid over all needed more dressing both other appetizers were cold. The place ran out of power and the offered no way to help customers out just threw a bunch off glOw sticks on the ground. I understand being busy but this whole time there was a lack of customer service and a terrible reputation of the Hilton chain. Breakfast was good but saw lots people were getting denied breakfast and they had to close early because the were lots of orders. There is really not to much good things to say about except the location was great everything else was pretty underwhelming"

"We live in Anaheim CA, and because of a chemical spill in our area had to leave early for our stay on Sunday before Labor Day. We booked a King Size room and elected the upgrade to suite for an additional $32.00 We knew that it was subject to availability. Upon our arrival we were informed that the facility was booked to capacity and we would not be allowed to upgrade to a suite. Our only other option was to rent a second room. Although we did not question it at the time, the excuse was that it was Labor Day weekend, and the hotel was "Full". We felt something was off but decided to pay almost $200.00 for the extra room anyway. Upon staying, the facility did not seem to be booked to capacity, and in fact was pretty much empty. The parking lot was nowhere near full, and there seemed only to be a few guests. We can't help but think they took advantage of, and that the hotel was nowhere near full. When we looked at the card the person at the front desk gave us, we realized that it was not just a person working the front desk, but a person in charge of sales; we really felt we had been misled, taken advantage of and it ruined our stay. At the tune of almost $400.00 we would have elected to, and stayed somewhere else, but ...we were stuck as a refund was never offered. Just a bad experience, and the loss of loyal customers. Be careful when booking "possible" upgrades."
