Was very disappointed when asking for early check in, I overheard the employee turn to her co-worker and ask because I booked thru Expedia if they were honoring early check in and was told no. I feel I was penalized for not booking thru the hotel. Early check in would have made our weekend plans much better.

This hotel in downtown Detroit, Michigan has 400 guestrooms and is within a mile of Comerica Park, Ford Field, and Fox …More
Strengths & positives: Greektown location, suite design, convenience, Fishbones, good value, and a really great staff! Opportunity: in need of a few updates and minor repairs (aged HVAC, dripping sink, remote & radio not working). Overall, I really do love this hotel as the strengths outweigh anything else.
I am not sure if I would recommend this hotel to a friend actually as it is not what it looks like on your website. The rooms were very old and outdated. Extension cords to run lights and only two lights to the room, no ceiling lights. I liked the fact the windows opened. Our carpet had seen better days aand was not vacuumed well at all. The beds were soft but managable with two people to the bed. Our bathroom was huge and clean.
It has great bone structure and I am sure was an amazing place in the 50's.
We were coming to a Detroit Lions night game and were looking for a room within walking distance of Ford Field. This hotel fit the bill perfectly: it was clean, the room was spacious, the beds were comfortable, and the staff was friendly and helpful. We were very pleased and will stay here again.
One block from People Mover, nice bar and grill next door, free shuttle runs only til 10:00pm which is not convenient for night games at Ford Field, Coamerica Park, etc. so had to use People Mover after 10:00 pm. Only complaint about the room was peep hole broken, they had toilet tissue stuck in it.
Detroit’s metro area is home to nearly six million people. Downtown Detroit has undergone extensive urban renewal in the last 15 years. The 982-acre Belle Isle Park is a popular destination. Sports are big in the Motor City. The Detroit Tigers play baseball at Comerica Park, the Detroit Lions (football) are at Ford Field, and the Detroit Red Wings (hockey) are at Joe Louis Arena.
