"We enjoyed our stay. Hotels.com showed us a different room than the one we got or was actually available, so i didn't have the microwave. Nice breakfast, thank you. Pet friendly"

Beautiful Cuchara, Colorado Cabin with Amazing Views!

Beautiful Cuchara, Colorado Cabin with Amazing Views!

10/10 Excellent
"This cabin is a fantastic getaway. It is close to hiking, fishing, and a 1.5 mile walk to central Cuchara, with mini-golf and pickleball/tennis. The deck is absolutely magical with beautiful views of West Spanish peak's changing colors at sunset and sunrise over East Spanish peak. It is quiet, peaceful place to listen to the hummingbirds and watch the golden-mantled ground squirrels play. It backs up on national forest so plenty of room to hike around from the house and for kids to play. The owners are easy to ask questions of and super responsive. The cabin is in great shape and kept very clean. The beds are really comfortable. There are plenty of linens and towels. One caveat is that it is a 1970s vintage pan-abode cabin so set your expectations accordingly. There is one bathroom, would could be tight if you had lots of people in the three bedrooms. No air conditioning but we found it was cool at night and a nice cross-breeze if you open the windows (there are screens). There is also no laundry but easy to use the clean and accessible laundromat in La Veta. We relied on our phones for internet with a strong cell signal. We love this place and look forward to returning!"

Cozy 3BR Creekside Cabin - Summer Fun, Fall Foliage & Winter Skiing

10/10 Excellent
"I loved the vibe of this home. It was nice appointed and close to the town center of Cuchara but also had a remote feeling. There was plenty of space for our family of 4 to spread out. The host was responsive when we had questions during our stay and there was a lot of good material at the home that told us about the area. We enjoy the Cuchara area and we plan to stay here again."

Cozy La Veta Condo: Walk to Cuchara Mountain Park!

Cozy La Veta Condo: Walk to Cuchara Mountain Park!

10/10 Excellent
"The place looks exactly as pictured. In fact, even cozier and cleaner. My hubby is a fanatical neat freak. He mentioned that his socks didn't get dirty from the floors. [me rolling my eyes because I did not care. However, he was correct.] Cuchara is general is super cutesy, cool and clean. The locals are wonderful and there are a few things to do. If you are looking for party central--this is not the vibe. It is quaint, picturesque, calming and just a great place to chile and relax. I am part hermit so I loved it! We came in from SUPER HOT DFW in July and ran to the AC. I quickly learned that isn't a "thing", AC, neither in Cuchara nor in surrounding areas. Hey, we didn't need it at all. We did turn on the fan for air circulation only. I am not sure we needed that. Just used to what we do in the metroplex. We stayed a week, and I didn't want to leave. I lead a fairly stressful life given my position; I also write. I got more work done on writing projects in that week than I did over two semesters. We will definitely be back next summer for a longer period of time. In fact, we are already trying to get back before summer! I learned to let go of stressful things and have really pumped the brakes! Oh yeah, we did see a black bear about three miles up the road on our way to Venita one late morning. He posed for a photo op. We stayed in the car, but I took a picture or two. The host was perfection. The place was perfection. Not a one issue AT ALL. Perfecto!"
