The duplex was immaculate and the real plants were a nice touch. Beds were super comfy. Kitchen was stocked with all the appliances (big and small) one would need. The space is nicely done, well appointed, and with nice homey touches. It's easily walkable to great spots in the Short North both for breakfast and dinner/night cap. We had a great stay at the Jungle House! It was clean and spacious and the plants and small decorative touches was nice and inviting. The location was awesome with only a short walk to restaurants and shops. The only issue we had was when we parked. The back entrances were not marked with a number, so we had to trek through the alley to determine which flat was the correct one. Though, that was only a minor issue. Other than that, I would recommend this property to anyone wanting to stay close to the Short North. The location was great, and the flat was clean and welcoming—within walking distance of almost everything we wanted. We did not engage with any staff during our stay, which was great for us. The furniture was a bit less than cozy, not a place for sitting and reading quietly. The balcony was lovely, overlooking a lively alleyway. The yard was a bit unkempt, with some trash in the parking area. Jungle House was not the quietest location, but if you are looking for a location with vibes and nightlife, it was a perfect spot. The location is convenient. The parking spot is great. Cons: I've stayed at many places using Expedia, Airbnb, and VRBO. This was the most poorly managed. They were constantly texting me and trying to up sell. I had to use a separate portal to either pay a $59 insurance fee or $300 deposit and sign a contract. Expedia specifically says "Don't make any electronic payments outside of our platform", so this already feels like a scam. Well, I did it anyway and set up the deposit days in advance. Then right before the stay, they texted multiple times and called me to tell me to set it up! They don't even know how their own system works. Then after confirming I was set up, they texted a link to a whole different system asking me to pay ANOTHER $59 or $300! They said it was a mistake, but that is seriously unprofessional. The whole thing was painful. There were multiple links to multiple platforms to find information. Even with all that, I had to text them to get the door code because I couldn't find it. Then the door code didn't work and I had to talk to them on the phone. Even then, the code for the back door was a mystery. Neither code they gave me worked, but I didn't want any more communication. Another annoying thing is the checkout time. They set it to 10AM then try to up sell you for a more normal checkout time. If you're late, they will charge $250 per the contract I had to sign.
