Situated two blocks from Schiller Park in the heart of German Village, one can hardly beat the location for culture and walkability. Check-in was entirely automated and worked perfectly. The house was very clean and exactly as advertised. Our host provided all the amenities one would expect, from soap and towels in the bathroom to coffee and tea in the kitchen. All the quaint German Village shops and restaurants were in walking distance, and the dog-friendly, beautiful Schiller Park was only 2 short blocks away. Parking on Whittier Street was never a problem. The steps are indeed quite steep, and we were a little worried about walking too far toward the stairs instead of the bathroom at night, so we kept one light on over the sink at night, which helped.
