Hosting a retreat, family reunion, girls or couples weekend or special occasion?
10/10 Excellent
"Wit’s End was the PERFECT setting for our family reunion. With ages ranging from 13 to 92, we had space for everyone. Our family has had reunions every year since the mid 1960’s and this year everyone agreed that they would like to return to Wit’s End next year. The best part for us was the living/dining area off the kitchen, with two long dining tables, where everyone could sit down to meals at the same time. In between meals, there was plenty of conversation and jigsaw puzzling in the living room. More conversations were had on the porch. The downstairs game room was a magnet for the teens to twenties folks. We had a great hike on the property one day and another the next day in the Conasauga Forest, a short drive away. The pavilion was the place for after-dinner cornhole. Our 13-year-old nephew and 92-year-old Grandmom were the champs! When we finally quieted down, we enjoyed the sound of the creek, just a few feet away. For the cooking crew, the kitchen was a dream. Two fridges, two separate beverage and prep areas, two ovens and an icemaker made our communal cooking so easy. The bedrooms are well appointed with comfortable beds and linens, and the bathrooms were beautiful and fully stocked with linens, soaps, and shampoos. Finally, our host John was super gracious and welcoming and replied to our questions and communications almost immediately. I highly recommend Wit’s End and hosts John and Laurie."
"The cabin was beautiful, clean, and well cared for. Though there were other cabins nearby, it still gave a sense of seclusion. If you don't like farm animal sounds, this may not be the place for you. That was actually a highlight for us. We really enjoyed our stay. If there is one area I would mention for improvement, it's the cookware. It was in pretty bad shape, but that certainly wouldn't stop us from staying there again."
Hilltop Retreat-adjoining Lake home sleeps 8, hot tub and peaceful wilderness
10/10 Excellent
"My two teenage sons and I had the best time staying at this cabin. It is absolutely beautiful and completely surrounded by woods and nature. The beds were so comfortable, the rooms were private, and the kitchen was wonderfully stocked. We had some thunderstorms during our stay, and we loved sitting on the screened porch listening to the rain while playing board games. Of course the highlight for us was seeing black bears! I can't say enough positive things about the Hilltop Retreat. We will happily stay again!"
"Julio is a really wonderful host and very fast to respond to questions. The cabin is clean with comfortable couches and an open living room space to hangout. We spent a huge amount of time on the trails, but it was so nice to come back to the cool air conditioning and great showers. The large deck was a nice place to sit and enjoy the quiet countryside surroundings. There were five of us and there was plenty of space. We’ve stayed in several VRBOs in the area and will come back to this one."
"My son and I had a great stay! We came to the mountains for mountain biking, and this property is just 10 minutes away from Mulberry Gap, a biking base camp. The property is beautiful inside and out. We loved sitting on the back porch and exploring the grounds and hope to come back again soon! "
