"The property is wonderful - right next to the river and there is a beautiful deck to sit, relax, and enjoy the scenery. The location is near many great hiking opportunities. The cabin was nice, but the kitchen was not well-stocked. Enough plates but only one soup bowl, no cutting board, no serving bowls, not many cooking utensils (no wooden spoons), decent cutting knives, or basic spices, so bring your own! Other than that, we loved it and plan to come back for another visit."

Rustic Riverfront Truckee Cabin w/ Deck & BBQ

"This is an older residence (rustic), with a very nice deck that has 3 different enclosure gates, which is very convenient and containing for pets. The deck is the best part of the property. The outdoor lounge chairs are very comfortable and clean. The deck facing the river gets mid morning sun and late afternoon shade (after 3pm), which is a wonderful. There is an area down by the river that has chairs but the grass needed to be cut. I was going to do this myself, but no weed eater on site or even shears. The area would look so much better, with better views of the river from the deck, if the foliage was maintained. I get that this is a forest; however, just by cutting down a few bushes and some overgrowth, the view of the river from the deck could improve by 100%. All the essentials are in the house, the double bed is more on the soft side. I did not use the loft upstairs with the queen bed. The stairs are steep and I would venture to say not safe for pets. The sounds of the river almost drown out the busy sounds of the highway. Overall it can be a tranquil spot. There is a nice 1 mile trail by the river several feet from the house that dogs can walk off leash, but only if they have good recall. Wilderness in one side of the path, and a busy highway in the other. The cabin is close to downtown restaurants, shops, etc. Overall, a fun get-away."
