Great hotel!! Very comfortable beds (awesome sheets and pillows were the best (real down), nice bathrooms with wonderful smelling products to use like soap (body wash), shampoo/conditioner and body lotion. Neat older holder hotel, but lots of nice touches :)

"Beautiful historical hotel"
we needed a place to stay that was reasonably priced and close to the university as we were preparing to send our son off to school. We wanted to stay somewhere downtown so we could get to know the Spokane area and loved all the resturants and places to shop. We wanted a place that was quiet and away from the crowds. I had a broken foot so the stairs were a challenge, but so was the weekend of saying goodbye. Having a nice dinner and some wine with my hubby helped with the transition.

Train came in at 3 am. I had called ahead the day before and was told I would have no problem checking in. The desk clerk was upset by my early arrival, but did agree to allow me to check in.

"Historic Downtown Spokane"
We have been driving through Spokane for years on our way to other locations. We decided to stay downtown and were surprised by the charm of the Montvale Hotel. The lobby desk area is small, but the sitting room on the 2nd floor is comfy. Some of the furnishings look original from years ago. Our room was generously sized with a sitting room and separate bedroom. The sitting room had a murphy bed available. The room was incredibly quiet for a Friday night. We did not hear any street noise below. The hotel is close to the Riverfront Park. We enjoyed a great happy hour at the Sapphire Lounge at the Ruby Hotel which is the location for the continental breakfast. Also tried out the Orlison "Brew No Evil" beer pub a couple doors from the hotel and had a fantastic Kobe Beef Ribeye at Scratch next door. We walked through the historic Davenport Hotel which is a block away. This hotel has a lot of potential and is now under new management.

"Beautiful new hotel - still working out the kinks"
Stunning first impression of this brand new Davenport Grand. We were given an upper corner room with sweeping views of Spokane! The furniture was comfortable and well designed. The staff were friendly and courteous. The following comments are areas they could improve. My husband and I prefer coffee in the room, there was none here-no coffee, no fridge with mini bar. You have to go to Starbucks in the lobby. The restaurant/bar was understaffed on a weekend night; we sat at the bar for over ten minutes with no acknowledgement so we left and went somewhere else. The rooms do not have sufficient areas to hang towels, thus forcing daily replacements from housekeeping. When housekeeping came they did not replenish our paper products (tissue) until we made it blatently obvious it was empty the following day. You cannot pre-order breakfast room service the night before, you have to call it up in the morning. Despite all the areas for improvement, the downtown location is excellent and The positives outweigh the negatives, and I would stay there again.

"Great location"
I stayed at this hotel a few years back and would not have recommended it. However it was recently remodeled and very nice now. You can walk to tons of great restaurants and nightlife. Get a room on the top floor if you plan on sleeping in. We were woken up by room service vacuuming above us. New guest services person getting trained at checkout time, so it took over 15 minutes to check out.
